Are YOU Prepared for Winter Weather?
Being prepared for winter weather is a necessity in Colorado. Along the Front Range, we can expect to experience cold temperatures and snowy winters. You need to be ready for any type of emergency that might arise, and preparing now will help later!
Winter travel tips:
❄️ Know the weather forecast and warnings before leaving. There’s no reason to be surprised!
❄️ Keep your gas tank as full as you can.
❄️ Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition.
❄️ Install good winter tired and check your tread periodically.
❄️ It takes longer to slow down on icy roads, leave lots of space between you and other vehicles.
❄️ Carry an emergency supply kit.
❄️ If stranded, run the engine for about 10 minutes per hour to run the heater and charge your cell phone. Open a window slightly to let fresh air in and avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
❄️ Consider keeping a power bank for your phone in your car in case your car loses power.
