: On April 24, the Stagecoach Battalion marked a significant moment in its history during a Change of Command Ceremony—a time-honored military tradition dating back to the American Revolution. This ceremony symbolizes the seamless transfer of authority, responsibility, and trust from one leader to the next.

During the ceremony, outgoing Battalion Commander LTC Jason H. Eaton passed the unit colors to MG Patrick J. Ellis, who then entrusted them to incoming Commander LTC Christopher Q. Kearney. This symbolic exchange reflects not only a change in leadership, but a continued commitment to mission excellence.

As LTC Kearney assumes command, he will lead the Stagecoach Battalion in delivering strategic logistics capabilities and ensuring materiel readiness. Their mission remains vital—enabling combatant commanders across multiple theaters to execute the full range of military operations.

LTC Kearney military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorous Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leat Clusters, Army Achievement Medal Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Assault Badge, Parachutist Badge, Parachute Rigger Badge, and Ranger Tab.

Please join us in expressing our sincere gratitude to LTC Eaton and his family for their unwavering support, exceptional leadership, and dedicated service. At the same time, we warmly welcome LTC Kearney and his family as he assumes command of the Stagecoach Battalion.

After more than 20 years of service, U.S. Army Master Sgt. Jillian M. Batista is preparing to retire from a career devoted to keeping the Army moving forward—from managing supply lines to overseeing critical operations with the 4th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade at Fort Carson.

As one chapter of her career closes, another begins. Her son, U.S. Army Pv2 Daniel Briggs, assigned to 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, is beginning his own career in uniform in the same division. Their shared service is a powerful reminder that the Army’s greatest asset is its people—the finest our great nation has to offer.
