Loveland Fatal Crash – April 16, 2026

On April 16, 2026, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to the intersection of Highway 402 and South County Road 7 in Loveland, Colorado, to investigate the death of a 23-year-old male. The decedent was the operator of a motorcycle that was involved in a collision with an SUV. The decedent was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent is identified as Logan Michael ZEIGLER of Loveland, Colorado.

A full forensic autopsy was performed on April 16, 2026, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt Force Injuries

On March 08, 2026, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a parked vehicle in the 2600 Block of Illinois Drive in Fort Collins, Colorado, to investigate the death of a 66-year-old male. The decedent was found slumped over in his vehicle with fatal injuries and his death is being investigated as a homicide. Fort Collins Bicycle Accident – February 20, 2026

On February 20, 2026, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a grassy area on the northwest corner of West Magnolia Street and South Sherwood Street in Fort Collins, Colorado, to investigate the death of a 69-year-old male. The decedent was riding his bicycle in the early morning hours and struck a curb causing him to fall over. No foul play or other vehicle involvement is suspected in this case. The decedent is identified as Scott Raymond CUMMINGS of Fort Collins, Colorado.

A full forensic autopsy was performed on February 24, 2026, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.

Cause of Death: Cervical Spine Fracture

Highway 287 Fatal Crash – January 24, 2026

On January 24, 2026, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to milepost 355 of Highway 287 in Laporte, Colorado, to investigate the death of a 21-year-old male. The decedent was the front seat passenger of a vehicle that was involved in a head-on collision with a semitruck that was going the wrong way. The decedent was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent is identified as Cobey Giovanni COPELAND Jr. of Yuba City, California.

The decedent was transported from the 2000 Block of Battlecreek Drive in Fort Collins, Colorado after he was shot by another person. Fatal Mountain Lion Attack – January 01, 2026

On January 1, 2025, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to the Glen Haven Fire Station to investigate the death of a 46-year-old Female. The decedent was the victim of a fatal mountain lion attack at Crosier Mountain Trail and had been transported to the Glen Haven Fire Station for safety measures. The decedent is identified as Kristen Marie KOVATCH of Fort Collins, Colorado.

A full forensic autopsy was performed on January 5, 2025, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.

Dr. White discovered at the autopsy the injuries the decedent sustained were consistent with a mountain lion attack and ruled the cause and manner of death as the following:

Motor Vehicle Crash Driver Identified as Missing Evans Woman – December 04, 2025

On December 4, 2025, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a canal on Larimer County Road 1 in Timnath, Colorado, to investigate the death of a 20-year-old Female. The decedent was found inside her vehicle after crashing into the canal and was pronounced dead at the scene. Based on the circumstances of the scene and our death investigation, it is believed the decedent died on November 30, 2025. The decedent is positively identified as Kaylee Juanita RUSSELL of Evans, Colorado.

A full forensic autopsy was performed on December 5, 2025, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Blunt Force Injuries and Cold Exposure

**Update** Highway 287 Double Fatality Crash – October 17, 2025

On October 17, 2025, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to the area of Red Mountain Road and North Highway 287 in Livermore, Colorado to investigate a double fatality head-on collision. Both deceased individuals were the drivers and sole occupants of their respective vehicles and were pronounced dead at the scene. For more information regarding the circumstances of the crash please refer your questions to the Colorado State Patrol.

Both decedents were identified as follows:

29-year-old Matthew Scott MARLOR of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

70-year-old Daniel MACIAS-ARMENTERO of Laramie, Wyoming.

Full forensic autopsies were performed on October 20, 2025, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.

The results of the investigation concluded the following:
