This morning, the Larimer County Commissioners voted to place an initiative on this fall's ballot that would support more comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment services. It's an amazing step forward in an effort to provide the behavioral healthcare necessary for a healthy community! Want to learn more about this initiative and why it's needed? Check out the page for People for a Healthier Larimer County or visit www.larimerbehavioralhealth.org

Larimer County needs a new detox, mental and behavioral health facility. Currently, over 75,000 Larimer County citizens are unable to receive the care they need due to inadequate public facilities. This is unacceptable in one of the leading places to live in the US. People are often jailed or taken…

Today's the day. Over 70 media organizations out of San Francisco will flood local media outlets with stories, information, and research on homelessness to bring greater attention to the issue. Our hope is this coverage leads to a better understanding of the barriers people experiencing homelessness face when trying to access housing, jobs, healthcare, or other needs they may have, and that this effort can drive important conversations about the real solution to end homelessness -- Housing First.

More than 70 media organizations in San Francisco plan to saturate online, TV and print publications this week with news stories about an issue that has stumped politicians and residents for decades: The city's homeless. Homelessness has defined San Francisco for generations, with...

There has been tremendous effort by dozens of people across Larimer and Weld Counties to house as many veterans as we can by mid-May. Since the beginning of February, 81 veterans have been assessed for their housing needs, and 25 veterans have moved out of homelessness and into permanent housing. Read more about what we're doing in this article in the Loveland Reporter-Herald.

The goals are lofty: start working with 140 homeless veterans in Larimer County and house at least 65 of them — in a 100-day period — and create a coordinated countywide system of resources for homeless people.
