We are the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of Riffenburgh Elementary. YOU are part of PTO if you are a parent of a Riffenburgh Student. It is free and we encourage your participation. The PTO functions to create and expand the opportunities offered to the students of Riffenburgh. Our goal is to assist, develop and implement ideas and programs that enrich our student body and community. We meet o
nce a month, typically the last Monday of the month, at noon or 6:30pm. We love participation and feedback so please reach out to us if you have any questions about the organization. As an elementary school, Riffenburgh subscribes to the philosophy that high expectations yield high results. The faculty and staff are committed to providing a continuum of education through which our students learn early that our standards, though high, are fair, reasonable and attainable. We strongly believe in the establishment of the basic skills process. Our curriculum has at its core a sound program of reading, math, and language skills. These "basics" are supplemented and fortified by the other subject areas as our students progress through the grade levels. Riffenburgh Elementary places a great deal of emphasis on developing responsible students. It is our basic philosophy that acceptance of the consequences of our decisions and accountability for actions and performance are paramount to success in life. We attempt to develop responsible students through a needs based approach.
