Takin' care of kids
August is Child Support Awareness Month in Larimer County. Our kids can thrive and grow into healthy, productive adults when they get the support they need from parents, caregivers, extended families, and others.
The Board of Larimer County Commissioners today proclaimed August as Child Support Awareness Month at their regular Administrative Matters meeting.
Staff from Larimer County Human Services shared four success stories highlighting the transformational benefits for children through proper resources, trust, safety, and recovery. “It’s so important that you folks get those dollars to the families that need it. It’s really important work, and it’s not easy,” said Larimer County Commissioner Kristen Stephens.
“Much of the work they do is hidden behind-the-scenes, yet is crucially important to the well-being of our kids and has a huge positive impact in our community. This is important work that focuses on the benefit and development of children,” said Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally.
In addition, Larimer County has received numerous awards for its consistently good work, collecting about $17.5 million for families in Larimer County in the Federal Fiscal Year 2025.
