Homeward Alliance

Homeward Alliance Homeward Alliance empowers people who face homelessness to survive, move forward and thrive.

We operate 11 programs and initiatives that provide a wide range of supports—everything from basic-needs supplies to employment counseling, housing assistance and long-term case management—to about 5,000 individuals each year. Programs include: Housing First Initiative, Family Services (including Bilingual Housing Navigation), Family Resource Fairs (including Family Food and Children/Teen Closet),

Peer Recovery Services, ReEntry (parolees), Bike Repair, Distribution, Mobile Laundry and the Murphy Center, our community’s “one-stop-shop” resource center for people experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Collectively, our efforts help people meet their immediate and long-term needs while furthering our community’s plan to make homelessness rare, short-lived and non-recurring.

It’s often said that the back door of every failed system is the front door of the homeless shelter.

In the latest episode of From Here to Home, you’ll hear the speech David Rout gave at our recent Un-GalaXY fundraiser — a powerful, clear-eyed look at why homelessness is so common, and what it actually takes to address it. If you’ve ever wondered how someone ends up without a home, this episode answers that question in a way that’s hard to forget.

Earlier this month, James and Lizzy did something that takes real courage… they shared their story in front of a roomful of strangers.

They’re housed. They’re in recovery. And the way James put it stayed with everyone in the room: “It is amazing to be on this side of the fence.”

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to listen to what your support helps make possible. https://youtu.be/lMZWBOw1bL4

In just three hours, you can help collect over $1,500 worth of food for families and individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. We need volunteers at the Fort Collins Sam’s Club on Saturday, May 30th from 10am to 1pm. All materials provided — just show up and hang out with everyone’s favorite Volunteer Coordinator (Shannon!). Bring your team, your family, or a few friends. It’s a great opportunity for teens (with an adult), and a chance to spend a few hours with people who want to make a difference. Email [email protected] to sign up. ❤️

The Un-GALAxy sold out — and together, we raised nearly $180,000 to help our neighbors experiencing homelessness right here in Larimer County.

That kind of night doesn’t happen without all of YOU:

* Every attendee who showed up and gave so generously
* The local businesses and sponsors who donated items, funded tables, and believed in this work
* Our incredible volunteers who made everything run smoothly
* The team at CSU’s Lory Student Center for hosting us
* for setting the perfect atmosphere all night
* Dani of who kept the energy high and had the whole room laughing

This community is something special. Thank you for showing up for people who deserve a chance at stable housing, meaningful work, and a future.

The stars aligned — and so did all of you. ❤️

The Gear Room at the Murphy Center has been keeping people safe from Colorado’s elements for over 10 years, handing out coats, boots, and essentials to nearly 1,000 neighbors every year, staffed every day by dedicated volunteers.

It was long overdue for some love.

This Spring, Leadership Fort Collins rolled up their sleeves and gave the Gear Room a complete facelift: fresh paint, patched walls, new flooring, and a deep clean that transformed a well-worn space into one that feels as welcoming as the people who work in it.

Thank you, Leadership Fort Collins, for investing in the people who serve our community and in the neighbors they serve.
