Last night, the Poudre School District had its first meeting with its newest BOE Directors (Coronda Ziegler, Karla Baise, and Andrew Spain) and said farewell to our outgoing Directors (President Kristen Draper and Jim Brokish). We're eternally indebted to President Draper's and Director Brokish's service. They will be missed. But I am confident that we will honor their service and legacy with the new composition of the Board. Alongside Superintendent Brian Kingsley's leadership, the District is in good hands. I am also honored to join Director Zamora (who will serve as our Board President) as a part of the BOE's leadership team, serving as the Board's Vice-President.
The night was made even more special by the presence of all the former BOE members and elected officials who joined us in celebrating this important transition. It was humbling to see so many public servants who have dedicated so much of their lives to this District's success. A helpful reminder that we each play a role in improving the lives of our students, and we all belong to a very special club because of this work.
With our incredible teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and students, we will continue to break barriers and continue the important work of educating every child, every day. I'm excited for what's to come and am proud to play a small role in all the important work this District does each and every day.
Onward!
