A HUGE thank you to our friends at SouthState Bank! 💙

During Child Abuse Awareness Month, SouthState’s Northern Colorado branches stepped up in a big way. Their recent donation drive is helping us provide the vital resources needed to support and protect children in our community.

We are so grateful for partners who invest in the safety and healing of our youngest neighbors. Thank you for standing with us!

We are deeply honored to be named one of the Champions for ChildSafe this year! 🏆

This recognition is especially meaningful as we celebrate the retirement of Val Macri-Lind. Val’s impact on our community is immeasurable—she was a vital member of the original task force that recognized the need for a Child Advocacy Center in Larimer County. Simply put, the Crawford CAC might not be here today without her vision and dedication.

Our partnership with ChildSafe is rooted in that founding spirit. Working together day in and day out, we remain dedicated to providing survivors of child abuse with a seamless path to healing and justice.

Congratulations, Val, on an incredible career! We are so grateful for your efforts to keep our children safe and for the foundation of partnership you helped build. 💚

Solid Foundations: What does it take to build a strong family?

Just like a house, families need a solid foundation to thrive. Love forms the walls and roof, but support systems make everything stronger. When families face rising costs, lack of childcare, unsafe conditions, or limited economic opportunity, it doesn’t mean they’re broken. It means they need reinforcement.

This video explores how prevention works—through things like home visiting, mental health supports, and family-friendly policies that strengthen families before challenges turn into crises.

Because when we invest early, parents can focus on what matters most: creating nurturing homes where children are safe, healthy, and hopeful.

We all have a role to play in prevention.

Connection is Prevention

Kids who feel safe talking to the adults in their lives are more likely to speak up if something makes them uncomfortable or scared.

You can build that safety by:
✔ Listening without interrupting
✔ Staying calm when your child makes mistakes
✔ Showing interest in their friends, games, and activities
✔ Making time to talk every day — even for a few minutes

Connection builds trust, and trust helps keep kids safe.
