⚠️ INFORMATION REQUESTED ⚠️

The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of a black stray dog seen in the area of Sgt. Gonzales Street.

The dog appears to have injuries around its neck and hind legs that appear consistent with having been hogtied. We are asking for the public’s assistance in determining what happened and identifying anyone who may have information regarding the dog or its injuries.

If you have any information, please contact the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office. You may send us a private message, call the Sheriff’s Office at 432-426-3213, or come by the office in person.

Anyone providing information may remain anonymous.

Sheriff Victor Lopez was proud to host the Big Bend Law Enforcement Officers Association meeting on October 14 in Jeff Davis County.

The meeting was a great success and provided a valuable opportunity to visit with our neighboring law enforcement agencies, share ideas, and strengthen the partnerships that help us better serve our communities.

There’s nothing like sitting down together over a good meal to bring everyone together, enjoy some fellowship, and build stronger working relationships.

A special thank you to Buster and Pamela Mills for generously giving their time to assist with preparing the food and for their continued support of our cause. We truly appreciate your willingness to lend a hand and support our local law enforcement community.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to JP Mary Ann Luedecke for her assistance throughout the evening. Your help and support played an important part in making the night a success, and we greatly appreciate everything you did.

Thank you to all of our neighboring agencies and everyone who helped make this gathering a success. We’re grateful for the continued partnership, fellowship, and commitment to serving the Big Bend region! 🇺🇸🤝

🚨 Media Release 🚨

On Thursday, October 8, while working Operation Stonegarden, deputies with the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve an arrest warrant for Blake Beauchamp near I-10 Exit 181.

Upon deputies’ arrival, Blake Beauchamp evaded law enforcement, prompting a multi-agency search of the area. Following the search, Blake was located and taken into custody. Blake was then transported to the Hudspeth County Jail without incident.

The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, DPS Air Support, Culberson County Sheriff's Office, and Reeves County Sheriff's Office for their assistance and support during this operation.

We appreciate the cooperation and teamwork of all agencies involved in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion.

🚔🇺🇸 Second Annual National Night Out! 🇺🇸🚒

The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office was proud to host our Second Annual National Night Out! It was a great community event and a wonderful opportunity to bring together our local residents, first responders, and law enforcement agencies.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped make the evening such a success!

A comment from the Jeff Davis County Sheriff's Office

The charges against Daniel Sullivan were recently dismissed due to a lack of evidence connecting him to the crime. In all investigations, when there is a lack of evidence to prove otherwise, the benefit must go to the accused. Arrest and trials cannot be based on speculation, suspicion, and small-town rumors. Any future charges in this case will be based on evidence.

We ask the public be patient while we continue to pursue all leads in this case. We will not rush the investigation due to social media posts or for any other reason. Anyone with actual, useable information in this case is encouraged to contact Lieutenant Robert Orr at 432-207-2280 or [email protected]

No additional information will be released at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

🚨🚨MEDIA RELEASE🚨🚨

On Wednesday, September 9, deputies with the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on Interstate 10 near the Cherry Creek Chevron.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant, leading to the arrest of Blake Alan Beaucamp for Assault – Family Violence.

Beaucamp was taken into custody and transported to the Hudspeth County Jail without incident.

This release is being provided for public information. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – HIGHWAY 90 CLOSED IN ALPINE 🚨

Due to an accident and resulting damage to the bridge, Highway 90 is currently closed in Alpine. Westbound through traffic is being rerouted through Fort Davis.

Motorists should expect increased traffic in and around Fort Davis as a result of the reroute. Please use extra caution, stay alert, obey all posted traffic signs and traffic laws, and be mindful of the increased number of vehicles traveling through the area.

Please allow additional travel time and use patience while traveling.

Stay alert and drive safely.
