Rise N Shine!
Last month, instructors with the 1st Battalion, 254th Regiment, alongside New Jersey and New York Officer Candidates trained alongside Cadets from the Albanian Armed Forces Military Academy in a joint training exercise in Rreth Greth, Albania.

From conducting ambushes and reacting to contact, to assaulting fortified bunkers and countering enemy ambushes, this training exercise sharpens tactical skills while building readiness, teamwork, and battlefield effectiveness.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the State Partnership Program between the New Jersey National Guard and the Republic of Albania.

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of D‑Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. In one of the largest amphibious assaults in history, Allied forces fought through fortified beaches to begin the liberation of Western Europe.

The victory came at an immense cost. The courage and sacrifice of those who landed on Normandy’s shores continue to shape the freedoms we uphold and the values we defend.
