We know construction is an inconvenience, but please, unless you live on N 22nd St between 16th Ave N and 25th Ave N, DO NOT drive around the road closed signs. LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY means those who live on N 22nd St and have no other access to their properties. Help keep everyone safe by using the marked detour.

Motorists who ignore the road closed signs and are caught by the Fort Dodge Police Department doing so will be ticketed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Stay safe out there!

The residential emergency snow routes are now in effect. The parking prohibition will remain in effect for 24 hours. Vehicles parked along these routes will be towed.

Folks - it's not good outside. The rain under the snow has frozen. The snow is heavy, and the winds are blowing roads closed as quickly as plows open them up, especially along the outskirts of town. It's definitely blizzard conditions.

If you don't have a reason to be out, don't go out. It's not worth it. Crews have their hands full trying to keep emergency routes open. EMERGENCY ROUTES ARE THE PRIORITY. For those with no choice but to travel in these conditions, please be safe, give yourself lots of extra time, and have an emergency kit in your vehicle.
