LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: this morning at Guthrie Ambulatory Healthcare Clinic, we had a situation that impeded operations for most of the morning. An unattended bag was found near the entrance to GAHC, and with everyone's safety in mind, a decision to evacuate clinic areas was made while our wonderful EOD team and Military Police dealt with the situation as quickly and safely as possible. Everything is under control.

For those of you who had morning appointments we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will try to get your appointments rescheduled as soon as possible. For those with afternoon appointments we are resuming full operations at 1 p.m, so please come in for your scheduled appointment.

To reschedule your appointment please call 315-772-2778.

To reiterate, our building, our staff and all of our patients are completely safe. Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding! We appreciate each and every one of you!

Some of our Soldiers had the privilege of meeting the Med-Eng team and touring their production facility in Ogdensburg NY. We enjoyed spending time with a small group of amazing people who work hard to produce every bomb suit sold in the US by hand inside their facility located only one hour from FT Drum. Our Soldiers learned a lot and appreciated the time and effort they put into our visit.

Seventeen #US4A Soldiers from across the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan and Kuwait graduated Nov. 25 from a #SexualHarrassmentAssaultResponsePrevention (SHARP) course at Bagram Airfield's Jirga Center. The Soldiers, taught by a mobile training team from Kuwait, received 80 hours of instruction on how to respond to victims of sexual harassment/assault, and learned trauma techniques to help victims navigate through medical, legal, physical and emotional processes necessary to heal. The Soldiers are now trained to serve as Sexual Assault Response Coordinators in their assigned units. Sgt. 1st Class Charles Gibson III, 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment at New Kabul Compound was selected as the honor graduate of the course. We visited the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team here on KAF. The EOD team is trained to disarm improvised explosive devices and is made up of the kind of men and women who put themselves at great personal risk as a part of their jobs.

A look around their compound reveals the pictured motto, "Initial Success or Total Failure" as well as, "I Hope This Hurts." There are robots, a parking lot full of JERRVs, and of course a well used gym. USO KAF has been lucky to have several EOD volunteers including Walker, Gardner, Koima, and Lowethorpe.

Thank you, we're grateful for what you do.
