U.S. Army Fort Drum & 10th Mountain Division
We haven’t done one of these updates in a while and this one’s got a lot of info so it feels a little nostalgic doesn’t it? Let’s get right to it: Effective immediately Albany, Monroe, Onondaga, and Oneida counties are no longer on the list of restricted areas. Service Members may travel to these counties freely as they fall within the 350-mile local travel area. Please be aware that the travel radius itself has not changed and non-DoD ID card holders wishing to visit the installation still require a signed Exception to Policy even if they are traveling from within that 350-mile radius. We’re all very excited to get to Chick-fil-A but please continue to use caution in your travels: practice social distancing, wear your mask and wash your hands frequently.
There have been some changes at the DEERS/ID Card Office this week starting with the appointment scheduler being back online: https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco. Customers may also schedule an appointment by calling (315) 772-5149. If you have a Uniformed Services ID (USID) card (dependent, retiree, all non-CAC cards) that expired on or after Jan. 1, 2020, it is now considered valid through June 30, 2021 and can be used to access bases and benefits. Finally, the ID Card office hours of operations have changed:
Monday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m
Tuesday - 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Wednesday - 9:05 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Thursday - 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Closed federal holidays and open on DONSAs.
Also, an update from Fort Drum FMWR: beginning 1 October Magrath Pool will be open for Service Members only from 0600 to 0800 and open to all DoD ID card holders by reservation ONLY from 0800 to 1330. The pool will be able to accommodate 25 participants at a time, parents must accompany children and all aquatics rules still apply. For more information or to make a reservation please call (315) 772-9673.
