Today we #RememberTheFallen.

On this day nine years ago #10thCAB lost CW3 Kenneth White and CW2 Bradley Gaudet, Aviators assigned to the 1-10 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, when their OH-58D Kiowa helicopter crashed during a combat mission in Khost Province, Afghanistan.

To honor their sacrifice, a memorial wall was dedicated to the Soldiers within the 1-10 ARB hangar at the Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield during a dedication ceremony in June of 2012. Their heroic actions during Operation Enduring Freedom will forever inspire fellow and future Aviators and their memory will live on in the hearts of their friends and loved ones.

Fly to glory.

Task Force Dragon is proud to present our ‘Soldier Spotlight’ feature, Private First Class Patrick Magargee!

PFC Magargee is a 15Y (Armament/ Electrical/ Avionics Repairer) serving with TF Dragon (Delta Company, 1-10 Attack Battalion), as a member of the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade during its deployment to Afghanistan. As a 15Y, PFC Magargee has demonstrated a consistent pattern of outstanding performance during the preparation and execution of two 500hr phase maintenance inspections. He assisted in trouble shooting and diagnosing over 300 armament, electrical, and avionics faults that totaled more than 3,000 man hours. His dedication to accomplishing the mission minimized aircraft down time by keeping systems fully operational.

In addition to maintenance tasks, PFC Magargee attended and completed a Combat Life Saver course. He was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for attaining the highest grade point average in academic and scenario based exams during the course.

Magargee was raised in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Wanting to develop himself professionally, and be a part of something larger than himself, he joined the Army in July of 2017. PFC Magargee’s future goals include attending college with a major in forensic sciences. Given his drive and dedication to the team, it is no wonder that he has excelled in his MOS during his first deployment.

Echo Company “Enforcers” coordinated and executed the first ever Elite Enforcer challenge. What a fantastic way to boost morale, fitness, and teamwork! This challenge consisted of completing a 16 event circuit in the fastest time possible with a two soldier team. The Elite Enforcer challenge proved to be so successful that it was sought out by other units across the Task Force.

Aerial gunnery is underway here at Fort Bliss!

Crews conducted team live fires yesterday, which tested their ability to maneuver and mass fires as a flight of multiple helicopters. With JTAC support, the scenarios were fluid and built to be as realistic as possible. After completion, the teams were then evaluated on their performance.

Dragon Family, here is a list of resources and programs for Service Members who may be experiencing specific stressors. The list is divided up based on the top six precipitants for suicidal thinking and suicide attempts (i.e. relationship stressor, previous suicide attempt, substance problem, occupational problem, disciplinary problems, and financial stress). The list was compiled as a mitigation tool for Service Members to be aware of, and seek out, their own services; and for leaders to be aware of available on-post services for reference should they encounter a Soldier who is experiencing one of the stressors listed. Thank you to the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade Behavioral Health Team for compiling this list.

That’s a wrap for Charlie Company’s HAMETS training at Fort Bliss!

Our pilots have spent the past few weeks in the mountains of El Paso, learning the techniques for flying in a high density altitude, power limited, and mountainous environment.

As they head back to Fort Drum for some well earned recovery, Alpha and Bravo Companies are preparing for their own HAMETS rotation next month. Attack! 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division 10th Mountain Division
