Volunteer instructors reach other family members about military lifestyle and resources providing the tools and skills needed to become vital members of their community. As well as instructing, we offer a variety of volunteer opportunities. AFTB Instructors are available upon request to conduct classes or separate modules for individual units, organizations, and family readiness groups on a contract style basis. Please contact the Program Manager for more information on this opportunity AFTB is also an available tool for those Military Family members of the National Guard, and Reserve Components. Even if you aren't near a military installation, our Level I, II, and III courses are offered online in English and Spanish at www.myarmyonesource.com . Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is a grassroots program that addresses Quality of Life Issues throughout the Army family - soldiers, family members, retirees and civilians. Fort Drum host an annual conference to address issues, which are worked by a selection of delegates and presented to our local leadership. Some of these issues will be moved to mid-level or DA level conferences. Since it's start in 1983, there have been 128 Legislative changes, 179 DoD or Army policy change and 200 Improved programs or services/funding as a result of the AFAP process.

Mission: Army Family Team Building (AFTB) is about readiness - for both the mission and the Family. AFTB is about adapting to Army Life. We teach and train America's Army and their Families in a wide variety of knowledge, skills, and behaviors that foster personal and family readiness. AFTB is a never ending member of the Army for free. The Army takes care of its own, by teaching its own to take care of themselves.
