As promised, here is the BSEP class information for November. Registration opens today. Email your registration paperwork to either [email protected] or [email protected]. All the information you need is on the flyer.

09/24/2020

We have received a large number of questions about our next BSEP class. We understand that it is a great class and how important it is for so many Soldiers. The demand for the class is even greater than normal because of the pauses in services that we’ve experienced this year, and our reduced class size.

We will release the November class information on 5 October, right here on this page. That is also the date we will begin accepting enrollments. Seats are filled in the order the completed paperwork is received by email. We will not accept hand carried documents; you must email the documents. Email addresses will be provided when we announce the class information. Thank you for your understanding! Stay safe!

Tomorrow, 12 June 20, starts our staged re-opening. Army Personnel Testing, by appointment, is our Stage One.

We posted the June 2020 calendar earlier this month, and noted that DA 4187s were available on our Fort Drum Army Education Center webpage.

Soldiers testing will be required to wear masks, and those who do not wear them will be turned away.

Please use the Monti Gym side entrance.

Clarification: As posted on 23 May, the Army Education will open for Army Personnel Testing only on Friday, 12 June 2020. The Fort Drum update incorrectly announced that testing would begin on 8 June.

Army Continuing Education Services Division (ACES) :: Fort Drum

The Army Education Center will begin a phased re-opening beginning with:

Army Personnel Testing (APT) on Friday 12 June 2020
• A test schedule will be posted shortly. Required DA 4187s are available on our Fort Drum ACES website https://home.army.mil/drum/index.php/about/Garrison/directorate-human-resources/ACES

• Based on current social distancing requirements, testing seats are limited to 10 per session.

Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) on Monday 22 June 2020 as discussed in an earlier post here.

Counseling will continue to be done through the GoArmyEd Helpdesk, email, and beginning 12 June by telephone. Telephone numbers, emails, and steps to file a helpdesk case will be available at our reception desk.

Soldiers are reminded that under current COVID-19 mitigation procedures, they must be masked while in the Education Center, if not they will be turned away. Additionally, Soldiers testing will be required to store any cellular or prohibited devices in their car prior to entering the Education Center.

At this time, there are no updates on when our College partners will return for face to face counseling or classes. This is dependent upon permission from their Main Campuses and University systems.

We will update this as more information becomes available.

Your patience is appreciated.

BSEP Announcement

We will run BSEP classes from 22 June to 22 July. Registration priority will be given first to Soldiers who were enrolled in the March BSEP classes and then to Soldiers who were enrolled in the April classes. We are limiting enrollment to 10 Soldiers per class to allow for social distancing. Emails have been sent to Commanders and 1SGs of Soldiers who were enrolled in the March classes. If you were enrolled for the March class, you might want to check your status with your chain of command.

Please send questions to [email protected].

Take care!

05/06/2020

As mentioned at this morning's CLIF, we are anticipating permission to re-open with limited services and staff at the end of month, but if conditions change, we will remain closed.

As mentioned on this site on 4 May, we are available through GoArmyEd for Tuition Assistance or Counseling.

At this time, our College Partners remain closed, subject to their respective State Education Departments. They too are available on-line.

If there is a particular service you're concerned about, email me at [email protected]

Thanks, for your patience.

DID YOU KNOW...
Although we are still closed, we may be able to help.

For tuition assistance questions, and most other questions, you may create a helpdesk case in GoArmyEd (GoArmyEd.com) by clicking the green circle with a white question mark or by calling the helpdesk at 1-888-817-9990. Your case will be routed to one of our counselors.

While we cannot conduct BSEP and Testing at this time, you may work on improving your basic academic skills while you wait. The Army's online BSEP program can be found at nelnetsolutions.com/dantesnet/. Once you are logged in, you will see two options OASC and CPST. OASC is geared toward the skills needed to improve your GT score. CPST is geared toward preparing for college.

If you still have questions, send us a PM on this page. We will try to get you headed in the right direction.

Stay safe! We look forward to seeing all of you as soon as possible.

With OASC (Online Academic Skills Course) and CPST (College Placement Skills Training), you will be on your way to military and college success.

milConnect: Benefits and Records for DoD Affiliates

Have you thought about transferring some, or all, of your Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to one, or all, of your DEERS eligible Family Members? If you have completed at least six years of military service, and you have at least four years remaining on your contract (or you are indefinite) you may request your transfer now. If it is approved, your Spouse may use benefits right away, and your Children may use benefits once you have completed 10 years of military service. Submitting your request (and the approval), starts your 4-year obligation. You transfer your benefits in terms of months. Most Soldiers have 36 months of benefits. If you have used GI Benefits in the past, you will have fewer months to transfer. The process starts on https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect/. Make sure to read each statement on the request page before you agree to it.

Transferring your Post 9/11 GI Bill to Family Members is a retention tool. The sooner you submit your request, the sooner your 4-year obligation is fulfilled.

Let us know if you have questions.

04/07/2020

We are still closed due to COVID-19. We have cancelled the April BSEP class. Soldiers who were registered for the March and April classes will have priority when we are able to reopen and offer BSEP again. Currently, the plan is to run a class from 26 May to 25 June. We are attempting to notify affected units. Stay tuned to this page for the latest information. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Stay safe everyone!

03/17/2020

Until further notice, the Fort Drum Education Center is closed. If you need assistance, please create a help desk case in GoArmyEd. It will be routed to one of our counselors. If you are unable to do that, send us a PM on this page.
