For caregivers of someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, concerns about wandering can be overwhelming.

Project Lifesaver is designed to provide an added layer of protection and peace of mind.

Participants wear a personalized wrist or ankle transmitter that emits a unique tracking signal. If they go missing, specially trained first responders use the signal to help locate them as quickly and safely as possible.

ADCSI offers Project Lifesaver at no cost to eligible families in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Warren and Washington counties.

Washington County Office for Aging, in partnership with New York State Office for Aging, is proud to offer Washington County residents SilverShield services. SilverShield is an AI-powered, 24/7 protection program, designed to help older adults identify, report, and avoid scams via text, email, and/or phone. It provides personalized guidance, one-click reporting to the FTC/FBI, and community alerts against fraud.
SilverShield Scam & Fraud Prevention:
β€’ How it Works: SilverShield acts as a "scam prevention buddy," allowing users to forward suspicious emails or texts to receive immediate advice on whether they are scams.
β€’ Key Features: It provides instant analysis of potential fraud, gives actionable advice on what to do, and allows users to alert others about high-risk scams.
β€’ Partnerships & Availability: The program is often deployed by state agencies (e.g., NY State Office for the Aging) and sometimes requires a subscription (e.g., $5/month), with potential for free access through local offices.
β€’ Reporting: It facilitates reporting to the FTC and FBI, helping law enforcement tackle fraud.
β€’ Target Audience: It is specially designed for seniors and caregivers to combat rising elder financial exploitation.
