🇺🇸 America 250: Honoring Our Past. Serving Our Future. 🇺🇸

As our nation celebrates 250 years of American independence, the members of the Fort Edward Rescue Squad are proud to reflect on the values that have united our country for generations: service, sacrifice, courage, and community.

For nearly 70 years, the Fort Edward Rescue Squad has been honored to answer the call, providing emergency medical care to the communities of Fort Edward, Hudson Falls, and Kingsbury. Just as those who came before us helped build this nation, we remain committed to protecting and serving our neighbors every day.

This milestone is a reminder that the strength of America has always come from ordinary people doing extraordinary things for one another. We are grateful to all of our members—past and present—as well as our fellow first responders, veterans, military personnel, and the citizens who continue to support our mission.

As we celebrate America 250, let us remember our history, honor those who made our freedoms possible, and look forward to the next generation of service.

From all of us at the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, we wish everyone a safe and happy America 250 celebration!

June is PTSD Awareness Month

At the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, we recognize that not all injuries are visible.

Every day, first responders answer calls that place them in difficult, stressful, and often traumatic situations. While we proudly serve our community during emergencies, the experiences we encounter can leave lasting emotional and psychological impacts long after the call is over.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affects many first responders, veterans, healthcare providers, and community members. PTSD is not a sign of weakness—it is a normal response to abnormal and traumatic events. Recognizing the signs, seeking support, and having open conversations about mental health are critical steps toward healing and recovery.

This PTSD Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to:
💚 Check in on your friends, family, and coworkers.
💚 Support those who may be struggling.
💚 Help break the stigma surrounding mental health.
💚 Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

To our members, fellow first responders, and all those who have experienced trauma: You are not alone. Support is available, and your mental health matters.

Together, we can create a culture where seeking help is encouraged, understanding is offered, and no one has to face their struggles alone.
