The 93d Signal Brigade was originally constituted on November 3rd 1941 in the Regular Army as the 93d Signal Battalion. The 93d Signal Battalion departed New York aboard the Queen Elizabeth, arriving in England on April 26th 1944. Soon after, the Battalion shipped out for France to support forces deployed to Normandy. The 93d Signal Battalion served in Luxemburg for the duration of the r-DEN (Arde
nnes) Campaign and deployed into Germany on March 9th 1945 until the end of the war. After World War II, the Battalion departed Europe aboard a Victory Ship arriving in Hampton Roads, Virginia, on December 22nd 1945. The 93d Signal Battalion was inactivated at Patrick Henry, Virginia, on the 3rd of January 1946. The Battalion was called back to active duty on February 24th 1955 at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. On September 21st, 1972, almost two decades later, the unit was inactivated in Germany. The Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 93d Signal Battalion, re-designated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 93d Signal Brigade on March 16th 1981, and was activated in Germany. The Brigade was called back into action in 1990 and deployed to Saudi Arabia with 7th Corps in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Shortly after the gulf war, the Brigade cased its colors and was deactivated. Several years later in February 1998 the BDE was activated at Fort Gordon, Georgia, where it would remain for almost 10 years. Since 9 / 11, elements of the 93d Signal Brigade deployed multiple times in support of the Global War on Terrorism. The 93d Signal Brigade was deactivated and reflagged as the 35th Signal Brigade on April 16th 2007. In 2008, the 93d Signal Brigade made its home at Fort Eustis, VA as a member of the 7th Signal Command. The Headquarters and Headquarters Company 93d Signal Brigade Honors include Campaign Streamers for participation in World War II: Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, Southwest Asia. Also, in Defense of Saudi Arabia, The Liberation and Defense of Kuwait, and Operation Desert Storm. The 93d Signal Brigade's mission is to operate, maintain, and protect the Global Network Enterprise for the Eastern Region of the United Sates; integrate Mission Command capabilities to ensure Mission Partners’ freedom of maneuver within the cyber domain.
