Today’s Operation Clean Slate was a strong example of what can be accomplished when agencies work together with one common goal, making our communities safer.

The Fort Gay Police Department, alongside the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne County Probation, and Wayne County Emergency Management, successfully conducted multiple arrest and search warrants for illegal drugs targeting those responsible for distributing drugs throughout our community.

This operation was the result of months of surveillance, intelligence gathering, and coordinated investigative work. Every agency involved worked with professionalism, precision, and a shared commitment to public safety.

Additional arrests may follow as this investigation continues.

Let this serve as a clear message: drug activity, violence, and those who threaten the safety of our town will be aggressively pursued. We are committed to protecting our citizens and continuing to move Fort Gay forward.

Traffic Pattern Update

Fort Gay K-8 has provided an updated traffic pattern to improve safety and traffic flow during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.

We are sharing this with the community so everyone is aware and can help ensure a safe and efficient process for students, parents, and staff.

Please review the updated pattern in the attached image and follow all directions when entering and exiting the school area.

The Fort Gay Police Department would like to congratulate Captain Anthony Thompson of the Kenova Police Department on his graduation from the FBI National Academy.

This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence in law enforcement. The FBI National Academy is one of the most prestigious training programs in the country, and selection alone is a significant honor.

Captain Thompson is also a former Fort Gay Police Officer, and we are especially proud to see one of our own achieve such a distinguished milestone.

We are proud to work alongside such outstanding professionals in our region. Congratulations, Captain Thompson, we look forward to continuing our strong partnership.

Today the Fort Gay Police Department had the opportunity to help distribute food to members of our community thanks to the generosity of Facing Hunger Foodbank and Valley Health. We are grateful for their partnership and their continued efforts to support families in our area.

At this time, all of the food from today’s distribution has been given out. However, if you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please feel free to send our page a message. We would be happy to help connect you with several local food pantries and resources in the area.
