The Garrison Chaplain's Office is sponsoring a program for people suffering from the effects of trauma. Trained and experienced counselors from Wounded Spirits, most of whom have overcome the struggles associated with trauma themselves, are here to help by providing a weekly Christian-based program to provide emotional and spiritual healing for those struggling with the effects of trauma. Happy 115th Anniversary to our Religious Affairs Specialist - formerly Chaplain Assistant - partners in ministry!

On this day in 1909, the War Department established the role of Chaplain Assistant, now known as Religious Affairs Specialist, through General Order No. 253. For 115 years, these dedicated individuals stood as steadfast partners to Army Chaplains, providing support and security during missions and everyday activities. Today, we honor the unwavering commitment of Religious Affairs Specialists, whose work embodies the spirit of service and strength of the Army. Thank you for fostering a sense of community in the Army and ensuring the safety and well-being of our service members.
