HEART LINK SPOUSE ORIENTATION!!!

We will be hosting our first Heart Link since COVID on Friday, 18 June. The workshop will be held in person (location TBD). Call or email us to register for this event!

The Air Force Heart Link Program is designed to welcome Air Force spouses to the military community. Recognizing spouses play an important part in a service member’s career, the overall objective of the Heart Link Program is to improve spouses' awareness of the mission, customs, traditions, resources, and services available to them. This is accomplished through a fun-filled day of games, networking, and information sharing. The target demographic are spouses 5 years or less but all spouses are welcome.

Fort Gordon Airmen and Families,

The Fort Gordon Middle School and Teen Center is a proud partner with the Boys and Girls Club of America. Fort Gordon Middle School has been selected to be a part of the 30Th Anniversary Photo Session as part of their partnership with the Joint Military Services and the Boys and Girls Club of America, providing children of Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve families quality care programing to inspire and empower club youth to achieve success and champion opportunities for all youth in America.

The Photo Shoot will be on March 4th from 3:00PM-6:00PM, and the goal is to have representatives from each branch of the military in uniform. Children between the ages of 11-18 are welcome to attend the photo shoot with their parents.

Hiring Our Hero’s has many FREE events and workshops available on a rolling basis which are targeted to both wide and specifically tailored populations. These are wonderful employment planning, networking, and educational opportunities for service members, transitioning service members, military spouses, and veterans.

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and Hiring Our Heroes invite you to participate in their exclusive Virtual Career Fair event. Today is the last day to submit applications for the AFAS Spouse Education Scholarship. We have been awarded the funds to offer 10 scholarships to spouses of active duty Fort Gordon Airmen. Five spouses will be selected to receive the scholarship for the Dental Assistant program and five spouses will be selected to receive the scholarship for the Medical Administrative Assistant program. The funds are guaranteed and provided by the Air Force Aid Society.

We have to compete annually to participate in the program and our proposals are evaluated against every A&FRC across the Air Force. Last year, we were the first GSU to ever participate in the program, and this year we were awarded twice the funding. We hope you take advantage of this wonderful program.
