This past week, our dedicated Soldiers engaged in a comprehensive week-long Army Warrior Task (AWT) training at the Warrior Skills Training Center (WSTC) on Fort Cavazos.

During this intensive training, our team had the opportunity to refine essential skills in several critical areas:
- šŸš› Convoy Operations
- šŸ“” Communications
- šŸ—ŗļø Land Navigation
- šŸ  Room Clearing
- ā˜£ļø CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) training from the 68th Chemical Company and more.

These key exercises are vital for operational readiness and ensure that our Soldiers remain prepared to tackle any challenge that comes their way.

The dedication and determination displayed by our team exemplifies the unwavering commitment to excellence that defines our unit. Together, we continue to enhance our skills, readiness, and unit cohesion. Well done, team! šŸ’ŖšŸ»

From June 3rd through June 7th, the Mighty 85th Combat Operational Stress Contol Detachment supported the Joint Emergency Medical Training Exercise (JEMX) on Fort Cavazos. Over the course of the week, the 85th COSC deployed 22 BH providers and techs, including individuals from CRDAMC and from other 1st MED BDE units, to provide continuous support to over 120 trainees, 100 cadre members, and 40 role players. The primary mission was to support the cadaver team consisting of 11 Soldiers, but the mission didnā€™t stop there. While placed at strategic positions, the BH teams delivered immediate assistance and facilitated over 460 non-clinical encounters and 10 clinical encounters. We are so proud of each and every member of the team for their dedication and support to protect the health and welfare of the formations across Fort Cavazos!

Trained and Ready for Whatā€™s Next while Nurturing Strong Partnerships - CPT Howell, SGT Schonewitz, and SGT Reisenberg collaborated with CPT Spann and 1LT Jian, OTD Students from JBSA, to provide a Hospital Grand Rounds lecture at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on the ā€œHolistic Approach to Sleepā€. The lecture was focused on an Introduction to Occupational Therapy (OT), OTā€™s Role in Sleep, current challenges Soldiers face in regards to getting an adequate amount of sleep, current research suggesting strategies and resources to promote healthy sleep, sleep leadership strategies to ensure Soldiers are protected, and sub-clinical and clinical resources available to the Soldiers at Fort Cavazos!

Nurturing Strong Partnerships - On 09 February, the 85th COSC Facilitated a Resiliency Day for the 555th FSRD. Emphasis on preparing the unit to overcome and mitigate combat and operational stressors for any mission that lies ahead. The Resiliency Day began with Yoga and later included lecture on Burnout, Down-Regulation/Re-Interpreting Stress, Leading Through Your Strengths, Managing Lifeā€™s Ongoing Transitions, Creating Collaboration Through Conflict, and a presentation from guest speaker Dr. Scott Engel from the Intrepid Center on the ā€œWar Within Conceptā€!

Yesterday the 85th COSC Phantom Guardians hosted an LPD style facilitation for the 9th Hospital Center Longhorns focused on building Healthy Relationships. Emphasis placed on improving understanding of the characteristics and signs of a healthy relationship, unhealthy relationship, and abusive relationship. 85th COSC also invited the R2 Performance Center to discuss communication styles and itā€™s impact on building or hurting relationships and MFLC/FAP/Legal to discuss resources readily available to the Soldiers and ramifications of making an impulse decision. As always, 85th COSC remains ready and resilient on improving the health and welfare of the Soldiers across Fort Cavazos! WOOSAH!
