Punisher families,

It has been a while since our last update so I wanted to take a moment and update you on all of the amazing things your Soldiers have been accomplishing since our redeployment.

First and foremost, thank you for your continued support of your Soldiers and our organization; you are the reason we have been so successful. You may have noticed that our name has changed a couple of times in the past few months. We were originally the Headhunters; due to the addition of a new Combined Arms Battalion to the Black Jack Brigade that bears the same Headhunter name, we were required to create a new callsign. We soon become the Hell Riders, Hell Raisers and now the Punishers. Understand that while it seems simple enough to create a new callsign and company name, there are 39 other companies in the brigade and each company name must be unique. I apologize for the confusion but the Punisher name is here to stay.

Our company began a unique transition almost immediately upon our return from Afghanistan. We are currently in the process of transitioning from HHC, 2 BSTB to HHC 8th Engineer Battalion as all Brigade Special Troops Battalion's across the Army share in this transition. This transformation is part of the reorganization of our Army and is not unique to the Spartan's. As part of this transition, we have bid farewell to the Military Police Platoon as they now belong to the 89th Military Police Brigade as well as the Support Platoon which now belongs to the Enforcer's of E Company. Additionally, HHC, 8th Engineer Battalion of the 36th Engineer Brigade is in the process of joining our formation. The Battalion will conduct a ceremony on 06 JUN 14 to officially reflag as 8th Brigade Engineer Battalion in conjuction with the battalion's change of command. Punisher company will conduct a similar ceremony in mid JUN 14 where I will transfer the company guidon to CPT Darell Coffey (the current commander of HHC, 8th Engineer Battalion).

I would like to highlight just a few upcoming events:

- 1730 on 29 APR 14: Company FRG meeting @ 1st Cavalry Division Soldier and Family Readiness Center in the Yellow Ribbon Room. This is a potluck function and we will be hosting a presenter who will help us as an organization to better understand what the FRG really is. Spouses and children are encouraged to attend.

- 30 APR 14: We are currently holding a canned food drive which will end on this day. Please help us to reach our goal of 400 canned food items. If we donate the most canned food in the battalion the company will receive a 3 day weekend in May.

- 1700 on 14 MAY 14: Battalion Ball at the Killeen Civic and Convention Center. This is an all-ranks ball and will be a fantastic evening with the Spartan family. We have currently sold 69 tickets from the company and still have a long way to go to reach the battalion goal of 700 tickets sold. Please purchase your tickets and join us for an evening of military heritage, dancing and fun.
