Fort Hood held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new Barrack 101 on May 19, the latest addition to the improvements to housing and quality of life for Soldiers at The Great Place.

The barrack is part of a project authorized and funded by Congress in fiscal year 2022. Congress appropriated $80 million, but the barrack was completed under budget at $65.5 million.

🍎🍇Fresh produce, pantry staples and other food items will be provided while supplies last from 8:30-10 a.m. June 4 in the Phantom Warrior Stadium parking lot.

Remember to enter only from Tank Destroyer Boulevard and Comanche Avenue at the traffic light.

Under the open sky, rows of empty boots stretch across Sadowski Field in front of III Armored Corps at Fort Hood, serving as a reminder of those who never returned home.

Over 7,000 pairs of boots stand across the field, each one representing a service member who died while serving the nation since 2001. Attached to many of the boots are photographs, names and American flags, turning the display from rows of footwear into visible reminders of lives once lived.

🎣Grab your fishing poles and join the Fort Hood Natural Resources Management Branch and Pond Hopper Army for a day of outdoor fun at the Kids Fishing Derby!

Families are invited to bring their young anglers, age 17 and under, for a fun-filled event June 6 at the Kids Pond (Cantonment Pond B) located off the Bell Tower Exit.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the fishing event is 7:30-10:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest, smallest, most fish caught and more!

Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA)
Access Requirements

Planning a visit to BLORA? To ensure a safe and efficient entry process for all guests, please review our current access policies before heading to the gate:

🔹 ID Requirements:
All vehicle occupants 18 and older must possess a valid DoD/DoW ID Card or an Installation Access Pass.

🔹 Visitor Passes:
Non-ID card holders must register for a visitor’s pass at the Marvin Leath Visitor Welcome Center located just off Interstate 14 (U.S. Hwy. 190) on T.J. Mills Blvd, Building 69012, adjacent to the Bernie Mack Main Gate. You must present the paper copy of this pass at the gate to gain entry.

🔹 Minors:
Must be accompanied by a DoD/DoW ID card holder or an Installation Access Pass holder. Minors are subject to ID checks for age verification.

🔹 Park Hours:
Last entry is at 9 p.m. All day-pass guests must vacate the park by 10 p.m.
