The Black Jack Brigade has led the way throughout its remarkable history. During World War II, Black Jack was first to storm the island of Leyte and reach the capital of Manilla during the liberation of the Philippines, and was the first allied unit to enter the city of Tokyo. They were the first of the 1st Cavalry Division's brigades to conduct operations in the Republic of Vietnam. During the Pe

rsian Gulf War, Black Jack was the first coalition unit to conduct offensive ground-operations in Iraq. They were 1st Cavalry Division's first brigade to deploy to Operation Iraqi Freedom and the first brigade to arrive in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. The Black Jack Brigade Combat Team stands ready to lead the way to any contingency area world-wide to accomplish any mission that the future might bring.

Black Jack had the honor of hosting the Chief of Staff of the Army, GEN George, at the NTC 26-02 Transformation In Contact (TIC) rotation. During his visit he was briefed on how Black Jack integrated new technology and formations to enhance lethality, survivability, and mission command across the formation. He also recognized several exceptional Black Jack Troopers whose expertise and leadership are driving our transformation forward.

Black Jack Troopers kicked off preparations for NTC 26-02 (TIC Rotation) with rail operations, one of the most critical phases of deployment.

From sunrise inspections to final tie-downs, our Troopers demonstrated the discipline and attention to detail required to move an armored brigade across the country.
Every vehicle was loaded.
Every chain was tightened.
Every safety check was completed with purpose.
