First Sergeant’s Duties and responsibilities date back to the Civial War. Military Leaders have viewed the 1SG as the key to development of a good company. They are the provider, the disciplinarian, the wise counselor, the versatile speaker, the confident sounding board, and above all, the company’s FIRST SOLDIER! The III Corps and Fort Hood NCOA conducted the change of Responsibility this morning between 1SG Sherwood and 1SG Burton. Congratulations to 1SG Sherwood as she moves on to the Sergeant Major Academy and welcome to the team 1SG Burton!

The value this young warrior and his family bring to our team is tremendous! As a prior BLC SGL, SFC Jimenez showed potential for much more trust and responsibility; we quickly made him part of the SFDD team where he trains the US Army’s future instructors. SFC Jimenez, we are proud of you and all that you have accomplished over your tenure here. We look forward to watching you excel and grow our Army! Congratulations on your promotion to SFC!

Despite the COVID-19 limitations, our team has proven the ability to adapt and overcome! Our QAO and TCO team, SFC Williams and SSG Ryan, worked strategically to qualify each of our new facilitators. They worked unique schedules to cover all local NCOA Norming and dropped in to observe some of their AI and PI time to see how they were progressing with the Lesson Plans. Each new facilitator was assigned a PLT mentor to assist in norming and their AI/PI development and evaluations. The mentors, SSG Davis, SSG Aguilera and SSG McLean, developed a training plan to get these new facilitators trained utilizing cadre as students and providing unique feedback to develop the best SGL and SSGL the Army has to offer! These three facilitators have earned their Commandants Badge this week! Congratulations and welcome to the team!

Good morning friends and family! Today we announce that during this unprecedented time, as we continue to train and develop our future leaders, we have recognized this new BLC delivery as vBLC (virtual). Last class it was known as eBLC (emergency) as the Army worked at a possible future plan and put it in to immediate action! As our NCOA teams across the world fine-tuned eBLC and students navigated it successfully, we continue to train in the virtual world with a blended approach.

vBLC Class 07-20, is closing their first week with Squad Drill evaluations and PRT evaluations. They are 343 strong and located here at III Corps and Fort Hood, Joint Base San Anotinio (JBSA) and Fort Riley. We have teams at both locations ensuring the Soldier is evaluated successfully and personally mentored in to development in those evaluations.

We have the best TEAM! We are an NCOA full of TEAMS! Train the Best to Lead the Best!

Team of Teams!

Good evening BLC Class 06-20! You all have done an amazing job adapting to the eBLC-Blended! We are so proud of your engagements with the facilitators on blackboard and the professionalism you showed when you arrived for evaluations. You have set the bar for many Soldiers ahead and never forget where you can reach back to should you need leadership advice. This week you conducted PRT, CIT and Public Speaking evaluations on the NCOA lawn. Great work!
