Since 1981, the National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin has been the Army’s premier training combat facility, preparing brigade combat teams to “Win the First Fight” in large-scale combat operations (LSCO).
Goldminer Team, the sustainment OCs within Operations Group, coaches and mentors sustainers from the support platoon to the brigade support battalion (BSB) and sustainment brigade. From brigade support area live fires to contested-logistics scenarios, our OCs help rotational units learn how to maintain tempo, increase survivability and support combat formations in a LSCO environment.
As we revamp this page, we want to hear from past NTC and Goldminer sustainers.
-drop a (non-sensitive) photo from your rotation in the comments
-tell us your unit, rotation number, and what sustainment job you conducted in “The Box”
Over the next few months, we’ll share stories from NTCs history, lessons from recent rotations, and information on how sustainers can join the NTC Operations Group team. If you’re a logistician who wants to shape how the Army trains for LSCO and contested logistics, keep an eye on this page!
