The final day of Packhorse Cup came to a close today with a test of strength and camaraderie.

Troopers from across the Squadron formed relay teams and set out on a 6-mile ruck followed by an obstacle course.

From the first step to the last obstacle, each team pushed through fatigue, encouraged their teammates, and demonstrated what it means to never leave anyone behind.

It was a powerful end to the event and a reminder of the spirit that drives Packhorse forward.

Who is taking home the Packhorse Cup? Winners will be announced on Squadron Night December 10th. Stay tuned to see which Troop will take home the trophy!

Day 1 of the Packhorse Cup is in the books—and the troopers showed up READY.

From deadlifts and hand-release push-ups to sled drags and litter carries, every event tested strength, endurance, and heart of our Packhorse Troopers.

Our relay teams pushed hard, lifted each other up, and proved what Packhorse pride looks like when the pressure is on. This is what competition is all about—teamwork, intensity, and refusing to quit!

Stay tuned for Day 2 where Packhorse Troopers face off in the ruck and obstacle course!

Today, the 11th ACR Horse Detachment had the honor of hosting the Gold Star Families of Southern California. 🇺🇸

The day included a tour of the Detachment, hands-on experiences with our horses, and an opportunity to learn about the proud history of the 11th ACR and what life was like for a Trooper in 1901.

The event concluded with an exciting demonstration of Historic Cavalry drills—featuring horse jumping, mounted sabers, and mounted shooting.

It was a privilege to share our traditions and history with these families, and we are grateful for the chance to honor their loved ones.

Earlier this week, we had the distinct honor of hosting 20th CBRNE Leaders BG Bochat and CSM Kirk for a demonstration by our outstanding Smoke Platoon!

The Platoon showcased their critical obscuration capabilities, walking the leadership through the missions they execute in the box – providing essential smoke support for maneuver elements. They highlighted the functionality of our smoke trucks and generators, demonstrating the speed and precision with which they can create effective visual obscuration.

BG Bochat and CSM Kirk expressed their appreciation for the Platoon’s dedication to mastering this vital skill set and emphasized its importance to the Squadron’s overall combat readiness.

The RSS Special Purpose Forces (SPF) team took the SCO on a few of their missions in the rotational units (RTU) rear area. The SPF was designed to utilize the expertise of logistics Soldiers to contest RTU logistics and present rear area dilemmas to RTU commanders. The team worked with the SCO on mission planning, recon, rehearsals, and tactical movements. After each mission the team downgrades and conducts a hot wash to improve future operations. Pictured in this post is the hot wash following a successful raid on an RTU TOC.
