I have had a question posed to me about the validity of this post. With that I will provide further clarification. The law read "A person may operate a utility vehicle". A "utility vehicle" is defined by Ohio law 4501.01 (VV) as "Utility vehicle" means a self-propelled vehicle designed with a bed, principally for the purpose of transporting material or cargo in connection with construction, agricultural, forestry, grounds maintenance, lawn and garden, materials handling, or similar activities.
After conferring with other Putnam County Law Enforcement Officers the key terms here are that a "utility vehicle" must have a bed, must display the triangular slow moving vehicle emblem, and must be going from or to a working agricultural area for agricultural purposes.
