From the Fort Knox Environmental Division, we extend our sincere gratitude to our Environmental Officers and the entire Fort Knox community. Protecting this installation is about more than compliance—it’s about stewardship. Fort Knox is home to diverse wildlife, vital natural resources, and landscapes that support both mission readiness and quality of life. As we move into 2026 and beyond, our commitment remains steadfast: to safeguard these resources with care, integrity, and respect, ensuring they endure for future generations.

This work cannot be done alone. Every action—large or small—has an impact. Whether it’s being mindful of where we walk, how we dispose of waste, reporting concerns, or simply taking a moment to notice the natural world around us, each of us plays a role in protecting Fort Knox. We encourage you to pause, reflect, and ask how your daily choices can support this shared responsibility. Together, through awareness, partnership, and purpose, we can continue to protect the land and wildlife that make Fort Knox not just an installation, but a living, thriving community.

⚠️ Temporary Closure: Bridges to the Past Trail

Fort Knox has temporarily closed the Bridges to the Past Trail due to safety concerns caused by damage to railings and fencing. Our team is actively assessing the extent of the damage and developing a plan for repairs.

In the meantime, Tioga Trail remains open, and we encourage you to explore nearby alternatives such as Saunders Springs Nature Preserve in Radcliff and Elizabethtown’s urban trail system for your walking and hiking adventures.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

🌿 REDUCE. REPAIR. RECYCLE. REPURPOSE. RECLAIM. 🌿

Every choice we make has an impact—let’s make it count. Whether it’s cutting back on waste, fixing what’s broken, giving old items new life, or reclaiming materials for future use, these small actions build a more sustainable world 🌎🌱❤️

Let’s lead by example Fort Knox! ♻️

Our office was contacted today for the removal and relocation of a Big Brown Bat (Eptesicus fuscus). Once it was released, it immediately took flight and began to forage. Bats play a crucial role in our ecosystems, and we enjoy seeing them thrive.
