On June 12th in Ft. Knox, Ky., Lt. Col. Lyndsey Thompson relinquished command of the Mission Support Battalion to Lt. Col. Megan Scavezze during a Change of Command ceremony.

The “Workhorse Battalion” extends its gratitude to Lt. Col. Thompson and welcomes Lt. Col. Scavezze!

Two Soldiers assigned to the Mission Support Battalion (MSB) competed alongside Soldiers from the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) and the Army Parachute Team (APT) during the Marketing and Engagement Brigade NCO of the Quarter board at Ft. Knox, Ky. After a stellar performance showcasing her poise, dedication, and Army knowledge, Sgt.
Brittany Simmons was named NCO of the 1st Quarter. Sgt. Lauren Gajeton, also assigned to MSB, participated in the board and demonstrated exceptional professionalism and commitment throughout the competition.

Congratulations to all the competitors, and well deserved, Sgt. Simmons!

Capt. Bianca Gardner receives the Army Commendation Medal from Capt. Katie Cunningham, Outreach Company commander, during her separation ceremony at Fort Knox, Ky., Aug. 19, 2025. Gardner is recognized for her outstanding service as a member of the U.S. Army Warrior Fit Team, where she represented the Army in national fitness events and inspired Soldiers through strength, resilience and leadership.

Over the weekend, At-Large members of our U.S. ARMY ESPORTS Rainbow Six Siege team traveled down to Philadelphia, PA, to compete in a Rainbow Six Siege LAN tournament against 20+ other teams. They took the opportunity to engage with the gaming community, build teamwork, and showcase the Army’s presence in the expanding esports space through the Rainbow Six Siege Showdown tournament. The team ended their run with a record of two wins and two losses.

The team is comprised of Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve soldiers.
-Team Manager Staff Sgt. Caprini McHugh with the 2nd Battalion - 330th -Infantry Regiment, at the Arlington Heights Army Reserve Center, IL.
-Team Support & Competitive Player Cpt. Bishop with the 3rd Battalion, 81st Armored Regiment at Fort Moore, GA.
-Analyst 1st Lt. Relleve with the Regimental Support Squadron at Fort Irwin, CA.
-Competitive Player Spc. Farrel with the Joint Force Headquarters in Illinois.
-Competitive Player Spc. Morris with the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, V Corps at Fort Knox, KY.
-Competitive Player Sgt. Griner with 22ND Chemical Battalion at Fort Carson, CO.

On June 5, 2025, Outreach Company, U.S. Army Accessions Mission Support Battalion “The Workhorse Battalion,” held a change of command ceremony at the OC headquarters at Fort Knox, Kentucky, where Capt. Mimi Mejia relinquished command to Capt. Catherine Cunningham. The Outreach Company oversees the Army’s outward-facing engagement efforts, including the U.S. Army Warrior Fitness, U.S. ARMY ESPORTS, US Army Outdoors, and the Army Musical Outreach. The ceremony honored a time-honored tradition symbolizing the transfer of command, responsibility, and leadership.

FORT KNOX, Ky. – On your marks, get set, go! Soldiers from U.S. Army Accessions Mission Support Battalion and the Mobile Exhibit Company completed the Army Fitness Test, June 4, 2025. The event highlighted the unit’s commitment to physical readiness and the Army’s warrior ethos.

We’re proud to see our commander, Lt. Col. Lyndsey L. Thompson, recognized for her inspiring journey and dedication to service. From growing up in a military family to leading the U.S. Army Accessions Mission Support Battalion, she continues to lead with purpose and pride.

Although she grew up in a military family, Lt. Col. Lyndsey Thompson said she really didn’t have a career goal after graduation.
