Congratulations are in order!

It is with great pleasure that we inform you of Master Sgt. Robert Yeager's pistol U.S. Army Reserve Marksmanship Unit achievement. Master Sgt. Yeager has earned enough points to earn the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge. He just competed in the latest Excellence In Competition (EIC) event and he finished 2nd of 169 shooters and placed 1st among U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers. His score exceeded the number of points he needed to qualify for the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge. Master Sgt. Yeager's tactical proficency demonstrates the lethality of the Army Reserve to carry out its wartime missions.

Congrats to him on this amazing accomplishment!

Below is a brief summary of the history and significance of this prestigious honor.

The U.S. Army Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge is a premier, historic award established in 1891 to recognize superior marksmanship in authorized Excellence-in-Competition (EIC) matches.

It is awarded to personnel who accumulate 30 points in high-level competitions, featuring a gold shield with a target design and "U.S. ARMY" on the bar. Civilian Marksmanship Program +1

CENTURY SOLDIERS — YOUR CHALLENGE AWAITS!
The 100th Training Division is scheduled to host the Norwegian Foot March on Sept. 19, 2026, and slated to depart from the Fort Knox Caruso Youth Sports Complex.

Dating from World War I, this historic 18.6 mile road march under a 24 lb ruck remains one of the toughest military endurance tests of the past century and offers participants the chance to earn the prestigious Marsjmerket badge, a foreign military device that may be worn on the Army dress uniform.

Registration is required, and slots are limited. Outside units are already showing interest, and the wider Fort Knox community will receive the invite next week.

Notify your section leadership today to secure your spot and earn a part of history.

Stand-by for future details.

Master Sgt. James Morrow was recently awarded the Army Achievement Medal for significant contributions leading to successful completion to missions with the 79th Theater Sustainment Command’s Inspector General Office.

In the same ceremony, his work as a government employee in staff operations in the G-3/5/7, along with his role as a training specialist with the 104th Division (Leadership Training), earned him the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal.

Morrow now joins the 100th Training Division, where he will work in the G-3/5/7 on training and operations and serve as the Training and Training Center Knox noncommissioned officer-in-charge.

Morrow, his wife, Mollie, and their daughter, Mirabella, recently moved from Washington state. They are excited to settle in and become part of the Fort Knox community.

Recently, members of the 100th Training Division came together to honor Sgt. 1st Class Ralph Grace, who received the Meritorious Service Medal for his outstanding work as the signal operations noncommissioned officer. His leadership in information technology and information management has been vital to the mission and to every Soldier he supported along the way.

Grace next heads to the 84th Training Command, where he will serve as the Senior Information Systems Noncommissioned Officer.

Each February, we honor the birthdays of two of our nation’s most notable presidents. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln both led the United States through defining conflicts on American soil.

Washington guided a young republic through the Revolutionary War, and Lincoln preserved the Union during the Civil War while reaffirming America’s commitment to freedom for all.

More than 30 U.S. presidents first served in the armed forces, and 18 saw active combat. From the American Revolution through World War II, every major conflict produced at least one future commander-in-chief who wore the uniform.

As Soldiers and Army civilians, we continue that legacy of service. Whether training Soldiers, sustaining readiness or supporting our communities, you strengthen the nation through the leaders you help shape.

We, the command staff, thank you for your professionalism, your dedication and your continued service to the Army and our nation.

Please celebrate Presidents Day safely and enjoy time with your family and friends.

Century Soldiers, on Monday, Jan. 19, the 100th Training Division pays homage to the profound contributions Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made to our nation and to the U.S. Armed Forces.

A Baptist minister, King used nonviolent protest to confront the injustices Black Americans faced and worked tirelessly to desegregate education, employment, housing and public life. His leadership helped shift the nation’s conscience and inspired generations to pursue equality through courage and discipline.

In 1948, President Harry S. Truman’s Executive Order 9981 abolished racial discrimination in the military, influenced in part by the heroics of the Tuskegee Airmen, or Red Tails, and the lesser-known achievements of the 761st Tank Battalion, an all-Black unit that helped defeat N**i forces in World War II. Their service proved that talent and dedication know no racial boundaries.

Despite these accomplishments and the Armed Forces’ progress toward integration, the nation at large remained divided. Images of King and peaceful marchers facing violent counter protesters on nightly news broadcasts forced Americans to confront the reality of bigotry and accelerated acceptance of desegregation. King’s words became a powerful call for unity and moral clarity.

King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, at age 39, leaving behind his wife, Coretta Scott King, and their four children. His legacy reminds us that equality strengthens Army readiness and that a diverse force, united by shared purpose, makes our nation stronger.

As we honor King, treat this holiday as a day of service. If you’re able, make it “A Day On, Not a Day Off.” Step up, volunteer and strengthen the communities we serve. Your actions move us closer to King’s vision of a beloved community and reinforce the unity and purpose that define our Army.

Soldiers, Families, and friends of the 100th Infantry Division,

As Christmas approaches and 2025 ends, I want to reaffirm who we are and the legacy we carry. In 1944–45, the 100th fought through the Vosges Mountains, held firm during Operation Nordwind, and captured Bitche—earning the proud title “Sons of Bitche.” Their discipline and resolve shaped victory in Europe, and that same spirit defines this Division today.

In 2025, the Century Division trained more than 12,000 Soldiers and civilians across 30 courses, launched the Army Reserve Command University pilot, and executed its mission through significant organizational change. Your performance strengthens the Army’s future.

In 2026, our Division will expand dramatically and assume new missions across multiple installations. We will meet these demands with the same determination our forefathers showed in 1944.

As we enter the Christmas season, take time to rest, reconnect, and honor those who serve beside you. May this holiday bring strength, peace, and renewed purpose.
