A Division of the Broward County Public Works and Environmental Services Department (PWESD) Broward County Resilient Environment programs are focused on increasing community resiliency, and planning necessary adaptation measures to address the local impacts of sea level rise, crippling traffic, and severe economic inequities. By implementing these actions, Broward County moves forward on building
a greener, more sustainable, and climate-resilient community. Our aim is to build stronger communities and infrastructure; protect critical sectors of our industry, government and natural resources; and use sound science to better understand and address climate impacts. Our strategies include modeling vulnerabilities and analyzing risks, thoughtful planning, developing sound public policies, convening support through stakeholder involvement, and implementing projects and economic investments.
