Great news commuters! Smoother rides along Commercial Boulevard are officially on the horizon in the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, and the Town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Crews are working to implement the final layer of asphalt to provide smooth surfaces to drivers. Upgrades to sidewalks, driveways, curb ramps, pavement markings, and signage are also underway to improve visibility and accessibility.

Widening and structural asphalt operations are underway at S.R. 7/U.S. 441 and S.R. 802/Lake Worth Road. When completed, the intersection will feature a new sidewalk and a dedicated northbound to eastbound right-turn lane.

Work on the west side of the bridge is progressing as project crews have placed the Florida slab beams, installed fiber-reinforced polymer, and poured the concrete deck.

New light poles were installed along southbound S.R. A1A/Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway south of the Sebastian Inlet in Indian River County and northbound S.R. A1A/Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway north of the inlet in Brevard County.

Next, crews will attach utility wires to the new poles, remove the existing poles, and construct a temporary roadway to maintain safe traffic flow during bridge construction as part of the S.R. A1A/Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway Over Sebastian Inlet Bridge Replacement Project.

Demolition of the old S.R. A1A North Causeway bridge is underway in the City of Fort Pierce as part of the S.R. A1A North Causeway Over Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) Bridge Replacement Project. Removing the old bridge will eliminate the need for mariners to wait for bridge openings, improving travel along the ICWW.

🚧 SOUTHBOUND I-95 FULL CLOSURE TONIGHT 🚧
To continue and complete overhead bridge demolition on the SW 10th Street Connector Project, crews will use the project’s contingency night tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 18.
SB I-95 will be fully closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between SW 10th Street and S.R. 834/Sample Road.
Motorists traveling southbound should plan ahead, allow extra time, and follow the posted detour. The closure is necessary to safely continue and complete overhead bridge demolition operations.

WHAT’S NEXT:
No full closures are scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 19, as part of the SW 10th Street Connector Project.
➡️Northbound I-95 full closures are scheduled for Aug. 20, 23, 24, and 25 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for continued bridge demolition operations. Aug. 26, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. will be used as a contingency night if needed.
Please plan ahead, use caution when traveling through the area, and follow all posted signs and directions from law enforcement and traffic control personnel. 🚧

Kinda chic to construct a drainage pond. ✨

Crews are constructing a drainage pond on the north side of S.R. 606/Oslo Road between 58th Avenue and 66th Avenue. This is the final of three drainage ponds for the I-95 at S.R. 606/Oslo Road New Interchange and S.R. 606/Oslo Road Widening Project in Indian River County. These drainage improvements help manage stormwater and keep it off roadways, enhancing safety.
