ARCIC Campaign of Learning Conference

MCBL personnel attended an ARCIC hosted consolidated Campaign of Learning Planning Conference, 17 – 21 August 2015, at the Center for Strategic Leadership & Development (CSLD), at the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks. This event brought together Army experimentation personnel with futures teams, and other MCCoE team members. The purpose of the Planning Conference was to synchronize future Campaign of Learning events with in support of F2025 Maneuvers O&O development and Army 5-Year learning plan.

MCBL hosts Unified Challenge 15.3 GAMEX Community Preparation Session:

MCBL conducted a Panel Lead and Analyst Preparation with the Community of Practice for the Unified Challenge 15.3 GAMEX (UC 15.3 GAMEX) on 13 August. During the meeting, MCBL personnel discussed the event concept and scheduling with participants from across the CoP to better prepare for the event. UC 15.3 GAMEX is an MCBL-hosted event scheduled to be conducted during September 2015.

Human Computer Interface (HCI) Technologies Research and Demonstration

MCBL is coordinating with two (new) technology developers in an effort to provide the latest in key HCI technologies to the Mission Command Center of Excellence and the Command and General Staff College as part of the Brownbag Lunch/S&T Demonstration in October 2015. The MCBL is in contact with representatives from two firms. One firm is a commercial firm working on holographic displays and the second has developed a Virtual Retina display in the form of 3-D goggles. Both of these have linkages to mission command and the human dimension (HD).

Unified Challenge (UC) 15.3 GAMEX Mid Planning Conference (MPC)

MCBL hosted the Unified Challenge 15.3 GAMEX MPC on 04 August 2015 distributed across the TRADOC Battle Labs. MCBL presented the event concept, methodology and draft schedule. Concerns expressed by the community of practice were captured to ensure benchmarks would be achieved enabling the successful ex*****on of the experiment. UC 15.3 GAMEX is an MCBL-hosted event scheduled to be conducted during the period 14-25 September 2015 to further develop selected insights from UC 15.2 Phase III operations, explore the transition from Phase III to Phase IV, and investigate how forces would “consolidate gains” to inform Army Warfighting Challenges and provide DOTMLPF-P recommendations.

MCBL hosted the UC 15.3 Vignette Development Workshop

MCBL concluded participation in the Unified Challenge 15.3 Vignette Workshop. The workshop was a MCBL-hosted event distributed across the TRADOC Battle Labs. The goal of this event was to develop the vignettes for UC 15.3. The vignettes were based on some actions in 15.2, but also were created to meet the learning demands requested from the various centers of excellence. More than 70 personnel participated, using both the Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment (BLCSE) distributed network and the MCBL futures lab.

MCBL participates in Unified Challenge 15.2 SIMEX

MCBL is participating in the community of practice event Unified Challenge 15.2 Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) hosted by Maneuver Battle Lab. MCBL is hosting over 100 participants from across the Army in the facility on Fort Leavenworth as part of this distributed experiment.

MCBL participates in Maneuver Center JCAM/WAS Seminar

The Mission Command Battle Lab (MCBL) participated in the Maneuver Center of Excellence Joint Combined Arms Maneuver/Wide Area Security Seminar Wargame June 9 – 11. The JCAM/WAS SWG was an MBL-hosted event utilizing Scenario 6, 2030 Excursion scenario developed by TRAC and modified for the Community of Practice by MCBL.
