A state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility, the Fort Gregg-Adams Military Entrance Processing Station, located at 2011 Sustainment Avenue, Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, opened its doors in November 2004. EPS is one of a network of 65 MEPS located nationwide and in Puerto Rico. A separate Department of Defense (DoD) agency, USMEPCOM is comprised of two geographical sectors and staffed with Civilian personnel as well as personnel from all military services. The mission of USMEPCOM and the Fort Gregg-Adams MEPS is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into the armed services, based on DoD-approved peacetime and mobilization standards. Three primary areas are considered in determining an applicant's qualifications for enlistment:
1. Aptitude for military service
2. Physical qualification

Social media sites are intended to provide a forum to communicate with internal and external audiences. Personnel must exercise caution and sound judgment when posting on our official social media page. At no time will our personnel respond to members of the news media on official social media sites in an official capacity. All news media inquiries will be referred immediately to MEDC-PA. Applicants encountering difficulties entering the military are likely to use social media to address
their concerns. To prevent public disclosure of PII, do not engage the applicant in discussion regarding their problem. Instead, direct them to submit an official request for assistance on the USMEPCOM public website at: http://www.mepcom.army.mil/Contact/. Personnel may use their personal social media accounts to interact with the public. However, they must operate within the following guidelines:
1. MEPS personnel should only comment only on information within their job specialty, their MEPS, or their military and/or civilian experience.
2. Do not respond to inquiries of an applicant's processing nature from a personal social networking account. Instead, refer the individual to the Contact Us page on the command public website.
3. Personnel are encouraged to respond to inquiries of a general nature, i.e., “When is the oath of enlistment ceremony, Where is the nearest hotel, What time does processing start,” etc.
4. MEPS personnel will not represent themselves as speaking in an official capacity when posting from a personal social media account.
5. Personnel who notice content not in compliance with posting guidelines will notify the official moderator immediately. Moderators allow comments, viewpoints, and opinions on our social media page in order to respect the public's First Amendment rights. However, the moderators will review all postings by guests for compliance with the posting guidelines. Careful attention will be given to photographs and videos to preclude exposure of PII. Moderators may remove public comments that are political or endorse a political candidate, target specific individuals or groups within the MEPS, are abusive, contain sensitive PII, or have similarly unacceptable language.
