As a proud blind member of the Fort Lee community, Gretchen Harris says she is thrilled that Fort Lee now has two accessible pedestrian signals, with plans already underway to install two more to assist visually impaired pedestrians.
“These signals have made a tremendous difference,” said Gretchen. “It’s just enhanced my life.”
Accessible pedestrian signals help create a safer, more inclusive community by providing audible and tactile cues that allow pedestrians with vision impairments to cross streets more confidently and independently. Fort Lee remains committed to improving accessibility for all residents and visitors.
