The Logistics Management Intern Program is a dynamic two-year program offering permanent upward mobility positions with the federal government. This two-year program of professional development is accomplished through formal classroom training and a series of rotational on-the-job training with Department of Defense agencies throughout the United States. Our high quality program ensures the availability of well-trained and experienced employees equipped with the right skills to support the Army civilian work force of the future. Upon completion of the program individuals are placed in positions throughout the world. As a Logistics Management Specialist you will learn the process of “getting the right things, to the right places, at the right time”. The field of activity encompasses functional planning, deployment operations, maintenance operations, procurement, coordination, and control of the movement of personnel, personal property, and materiel on commercial and military transport via rail, air, land, and sea. The Department of the Army hires and trains Logistics Management Specialists under the Federal Career Intern Program (FCIP). Entry level is GS-7 (approx. $36K) with promotion to GS-9 (approx. $43K)) after 12 successful months of performance and promotion to GS-11 (approx. $53K) after another 12 months of successful performance. TRAINING: Consists of an 18-24 month program, comprised of classroom training at your home base of Fort Eustis, VA, or Fort Lee, VA, and on-the-job training at locations throughout the United States. PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Permanent duty locations will be located at various Army and Department of Defense (DOD) installations throughout the United States and the world. QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree with a 2.95 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale OR have graduated in the top 30 percent of your undergraduate studies. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be mobile.
