The other evening, Fort Lee VAC hosted a Heartsaver CPR/AED course for members of Fort Lee OEM. Through hands-on CPR training, the participants gained the skills and confidence to recognize an emergency and take action until additional help arrives.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and fellow member, Glenn O’Connor.

Glenn joined our organization in 2012 and faithfully served both our agency and the community with unwavering commitment. Throughout his years of service, he held many important roles, including EMT, Field Training Officer, and Council Officer as Treasurer. His dedication, professionalism, and friendship made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

On behalf of our entire organization, we extend our deepest condolences to Glenn’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

This morning, Fort Lee Ambulance, in conjunction with Fort Lee Police and Fire, organized a demonstration for the Fort Lee High School senior class on the consequences of driving under the influence.

The line between life and death is a fine one; always use your best judgement, and never get behind the wheel while under the influence. Stay safe, Fort Lee!

☀️🥵 It’s going to be a hot one!

A Heat Advisory is in effect today through tomorrow evening for northeast New Jersey, with heat index values expected to approach 100 degrees. Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during peak hours, and check on family, friends, and neighbors who may be vulnerable to the heat. 

Need a break from the heat? Come cool off at one of Fort Lee’s cooling centers and stay safe during this stretch of hot and humid weather.

Earlier this morning, members of Fort Lee VAC who are AHA-certified CPR instructors led a Heartsaver CPR/AED course for the Borough’s DPW employees. We are committed to helping ensure that those who serve our community are equipped with the skills and confidence to take action in an emergency when every second counts.
