Congratulations are in order!

It is with great pleasure that we inform you of Master Sgt. Robert Yeager's pistol U.S. Army Reserve Marksmanship Unit achievement. Master Sgt. Yeager has earned enough points to earn the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge. He just competed in the latest Excellence In Competition (EIC) event and he finished 2nd of 169 shooters and placed 1st among U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers. His score exceeded the number of points he needed to qualify for the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge. Master Sgt. Yeager's tactical proficency demonstrates the lethality of the Army Reserve to carry out its wartime missions.

Congrats to him on this amazing accomplishment!

Below is a brief summary of the history and significance of this prestigious honor.

The U.S. Army Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge is a premier, historic award established in 1891 to recognize superior marksmanship in authorized Excellence-in-Competition (EIC) matches.

It is awarded to personnel who accumulate 30 points in high-level competitions, featuring a gold shield with a target design and "U.S. ARMY" on the bar. Civilian Marksmanship Program +1

Have you heard of Operation Experto Crede?

The 102d Training Division needs more instructors and recognizes that one of the best methods to attract new Soldiers to a command is through personal, direct contact with a Soldier you know. In support of efforts to recruit new instructors, if an Ozark Division Soldier successfully recruits a Soldier from outside the Ozark Division to an instructor position within the Command, they will receive a numbered Division “Ozark Instructor” coin, a vinyl Ozark Division “patch” to help show unit pride, and a thank you “Star Note” from BG Palmer, the 102d Division Commanding General.

This recruiting campaign, dubbed Operation Experto Crede, has brought 78 new instructors into the Ozarks ranks over the past year - but we're not done yet. Operation Experto Crede will run until 102 instructors are recruited, and will then recognize the individual, battalion, and brigade that recruited the highest number of instructors. Note - it's not where the recruited instructor is assigned within the division, but who recruited them that matters.

Help us complete Operation Experto Crede and fill our ranks experienced professionals who provide expert training with a sense of purpose and are known for developing the competent leaders necessary to fight and win our Nation’s wars!

For more information, visit the 102d SharePoint page and search "Operation Experto Crede."

The first week of the 102 Mile Club challenge is officially over, but there is still plenty of time to sign up for the challenge!

From 01 March to 31 July (152 days), all members of the 102d Training Division are invited to complete 102 miles of cumulative cardiovascular activity to earn a free 102 Mile Club t-shirt. Approved cardio activities include running, walking, rucking, elliptical, rowing, and biking; biked miles will count as 1 mile logged for every 4 miles biked. Cardio activities must be done during a dedicated physical fitness session - routine activities, such as daily step counts, do not count towards mileage totals. A maximum of 20 miles per 15 days can be logged towards your cumulative total.

Visit the 102d Sharepoint page today for more information and to sign up and track your mileage - just search "102 Mile Club."
