FTX 3 ✅
Sapper Stakes ✅

Class 05-21 finished the last two events standing between them and graduation. This morning they completed Sapper stakes which consists of a 10 mile ruck with challenges testing their engineer knowledge throughout the route. At the end of the event, students are pinned with the regimental crest signifying they are now part of the Engineer Regiment. Congrats 05-21, next stop graduation!

05-21 is in the home stretch of classroom instruction. For the last month the class has been hitting the books hard. This morning some of the Lieutenant’s stretched their legs with a 7.5 mile ruck in order to get one step closer to earning the German Armed Forces Badge.

Less than a month away till graduation!

Class 05-21 has spent the last month with mostly classroom instruction, but we had the opportunity to go out into the field to put into practice what we learned in the class. OPORDs, exams, and bridge building has kept us busy as we reach the halfway point in the course. We finished this week off by building a Bailey Bridge, and will spend the weekend and next week preparing for the second FTX. Keep up the great work, and stay motivated!

OPORD 1 (walk phase)

Here is 05-21 in action briefing and preparing their OPORDs. Each platoon broke into their respective teams and collaborated efforts to write a platoon opord. Each student will be expected to eventually write and brief an opord by themself as a critical (go-no go) event at EBOLC. This is where creative thinking, confidence, and careful preparation will be displayed.

While at EBOLC students are given the opportunity to join the Pre-Sapper/Ranger train-up program to prepare those interested in follow on schools. Students in the program take part in separate PT, attend extra classes, and conduct extra field exercises.

Here is a snippet of the last two day's evening classes, knot tying and RTTs (Ranger Task Training).

Another day at the office..

Class 05-21 wrapped up demolitions training today with a bang. Today we were able to put our knowledge gained from the last week of classes to the test. Thanks to the cadre for their well taught classes and guidance, and to 05-21 for putting in a lot of hard work to get through this milestone of EBOLC.

(I will be making an album for the rest of the pictures and videos that aren’t on this post)

“Walk-Crawl-Run”

Class 05-21 wrapped up phase 1 this past week with the completion of their field training exercise. FTX 1 sets a basis of understanding for patrol base operations, platoon operations, and battle drills. Officers come from all over with different SOP’s. This FTX works to get everyone on the same page and set the class up for success for the rest of the course.

Regardless of bad weather, heavy rucks, and little to no sleep, Bravo Company still accomplished the mission and returned ready to begin phase 2.

This week class 05-21 planned, coordinated, and successfully executed Basic Rifle Marksmanship. Monday was spent going over preliminary marksmanship instruction and weapon familiarization. Tuesday, Lieutenants took advantage of the EST range and call for fire simulator to get hands on in order to help prepare them for the range. Finally, Wednesday and Thursday Bravo company sent rounds down range and had a 100% qualification by the end of Thursday. Big shoutout to the OIC (2LT Halgrimson), RSO (2LT Price), NCOIC (2LT Smith), and the many other Lieutenant’s who acted as safeties, alternates and ammo details. It wouldn’t have been possible without the unit cohesion, team work, and high motivation throughout the whole class, regardless of the tough weather conditions.
