Comanche Update...

Good evening to the family and friends of Comanche Soldiers...
Sorry for the long time since an update but the Drill Sergeant who usually post these updates was working on another mission at Ft. Leonard Wood. It has been a very busy two weeks for all the Comanche Soldiers. Last Week all of the Soldiers fired their assigned weapon for the first time, qualified with hand grenades which included throwing live hand grenades, ran the Physical Endurance Course (Obstacle Course), and received instruction in Basic Military Communications. Congratulations are in order to the 3rd Platoon "Wild Dogs" for winning the Gr***de Streamer and the 4th Platoon "Renegades" for winning the Physical Endurance Course Streamer for their phase banners.

This week is another busy week for your Soldiers, today they completed the Confidence Course which included a lot of obstacles dealing with heights, tomorrow they will Rappel 50ft down Warrior Tower, and Friday and Saturday the Soldiers will be at the range firing their weapons again in order to prepare for their rifle qualification shortly.

The Soldiers are coming along (slowly but surely), and should be phasing into white phase soon. The Soldiers have not gotten much phone time but hopefully they are keeping you abreast of happenings through letters. The Soldiers appreciate you words of encouragement and look forward to seeing you in 6 weeks during Family Day and Graduation.

Once again welcome to the friends and family of Comanche Company Cycle 3-11! Just to give you some background information on our unit;

Company C, 2nd Battalion 417th Infantry Regiment is one of the 6 Basic Combat Training Companies belonging to the 2nd Battalion 10th Infantry Regiment... the premier training unit of the Army. Our company is led by 1st Lieutenant Brown the Company Commander and 1SG Elizardo the Company First Sergeant. Comanche is divided into 4 platoons all going through training at the same time and each platoon is led by professional Non Commissioned Officers. 1st Platoon is known as the "REAPERS" and is led by DS Moreno, DS Woods and DS O'Connor. 2nd Platoon is known as the "Death Dealers" and is led by DS Henson, DS McWilliams and DS Ewing. 3rd Platoon goes by "Wild Dogs" and is led by DS Cowhey, DS Santiesteban and DS Hakeem. 4th Platoon goes by "Renegades" and is led by DS Sabo and DS Alexandrovich. Your Soldiers are entering their second week if training and this week have practiced their Basic Rifle Marksmanship Skills, began instruction in basic First Aid, and today they completed the much talked "Gas Chamber" exercise. As always the Drill Sergeants have been working hard to instill the pride and discipline of an American Soldier into the everyday lives of the trainees. Pictures from this week will be coming soon and as always thank you for your support. COMANCHE LEADS THE WAY!
