Friends and Family of the Phoenix Battalion,

Today marks the official inactivation date of the 92nd MP Battalion as well as the 13th, 463rd, 512th, and 988th MP Companies. The unit accomplished more than many ever imagined. I am honored to have been part of such a dynamic team comprised of great Soldiers that made a great unit both past and present.

I want to personally thank those that poured their heart and soul into this organization, no matter location or mission and the families that provided unwavering support. Today is truly a bittersweet day, but I have no doubt that one day the Phoenix will rise again as it has done in the past.

Forever "On the Watch!"

As the Battalion nears inactivation and LTC Goyette departs successful 26 month command, he sends the following message to friends and family of the 92d MP Battalion:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today is my final day as Phoenix 6 and the Director of Emergency Services. I've attempted to thank as many of you in person as I can but I'm sure I've missed a few and some of you are no longer local. Each of you has made the honor and privilege of being called Phoenix 6 so much more fulfilling than it every would have been without you. My speech tomorrow is purposefully short so I will not subject the crowd or my Soldiers to a litany of recognitions and thank-you's. I ask that you please recognize this for what
it is and isn't. I am merely trying to prevent the Soldiers from having to remain on the field for an unnecessary amount of time.

Serving in this position, in two tremendous brigades, under three
exceptional commander's with the company command teams, staff, and Soldiers I've been blessed with, has been an honor of a lifetime. Thank-you all for remaining persistent and resilient through all of my crazy ideas and for caring for our Soldiers so well. Your commitment to our Soldiers and Army is a testament to your professionalism which I will remember forever.

Good luck with all of your future endeavors. Please never hesitate to reach out if you need anything. I will do my best to assist any and all. As always never forget the absolute honor we have to be called Soldiers.

V/r,

P6

Today, senior leaders from the "Phoenix Battalion" visited Wilson Creek Battlefield in Springfield, MO. The group learned about the historic civil war fight that took place over 154 years ago, on August 10, 1861. This outing enabled the leaders of today to better understand the history of military leadership. "On the Watch".
