Be a part of our future. Founded in 1861, the Colorado Rangers served as the first statewide law enforcement agency in Colorado before evolving into an unpaid Auxiliary in 1941 to became known as the Colorado Mounted Rangers

In 2017, the Colorado Rangers Law Enforcement Shared Reserve (CLER) was formed by 7 diverse governments across the state supporting 58 Law Enforcement agencies and government

s throughout Colorado. CLER operates under the original agency name of Colorado Rangers with Colonel Ronald Abramson as agency Chief.

Please join us in celebrating Rangers Rutt, Davis, and McKeon on successfully completing their Field Training Program (FTP) phase!

After months of rigorous preparation, mentoring, and hard work, these officers have officially earned their solo status. They are now ready—and incredibly eager—to hit the streets and serve our Colorado communities independently. 🏔️💪

As part of the only statewide shared police reserve in the USA, our POST-certified rangers go through extensive training to ensure they provide top-tier support to agencies across the state. We couldn’t be prouder to see these three take this next big step.

Our Rangers were out in full force supporting the CU Boulder Police Department during the recent Mumford & Sons concert. As the only statewide shared police reserve in the USA, we are proud to step in, collaborate with local agencies, and ensure everyone has a great—and safe—time.

LAST CALL - Attention Academy 12 applicants. June 20th will be the last day we can accept applications for Academy 12, which begins August 1, 2026. Anyone interested should submit an application now. Chief Abramson and Operations Division Chief Voth have begun final interviews for Academy 12 cadets based on over 250 applications, but a few seats still remain available.
