Be a part of our future. Founded in 1861, the Colorado Rangers served as the first statewide law enforcement agency in Colorado before evolving into an unpaid Auxiliary in 1941 to became known as the Colorado Mounted Rangers

In 2017, the Colorado Rangers Law Enforcement Shared Reserve (CLER) was formed by 7 diverse governments across the state supporting 58 Law Enforcement agencies and government

s throughout Colorado. CLER operates under the original agency name of Colorado Rangers with Colonel Ronald Abramson as agency Chief.

1,200+ Runners, Stunning Mountain Views, and Peak Community Safety! 🏃‍♂️🏔️👟

Our Rangers had a fantastic time on duty alongside the Idaho Springs Police Department, supporting the historic Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon!

With over 1,200 runners taking on this high-altitude mountain classic, keeping the course clear, managing traffic, and ensuring everyone stayed safe was a massive team effort.

This is what community policing is all about! Small agencies face big logistics during major athletic events, and small communities rely on the Colorado Rangers as a force multiplier. As the nation's only state-wide shared police reserve, our POST-certified officers are always proud to step in and work side-by-side with local law enforcement to keep traditions like this running smoothly. 🤝💙

Our Class 12 cadets taking law classes from Chief Abramson (a lawyer) and Lt. Clifford (a state Representative) at the Academy this past weekend. Knowing the law, and constitutional limitations and protections, is one of the most critical functions of policing and our cadets are being taught by some of the most experienced police instructors in the state.

Our Rangers completed outstanding training by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and the Boulder Police Department Bomb Squad at our troop briefings. Tremendous thanks to both agencies for the exceptional education.

The first weekend of Academy 12 started strong with our Cadets taking classes on Constitutional law and Colorado legal authorities taught by Chief Abramson with valuable contributions from Assistant Chief Robinson

Small towns are the heartbeat of Colorado, but large community events can quickly stretch local resources. That is where we step in! Small communities rely on the Colorado Rangers as a reliable force multiplier during major events—providing the extra coverage, crowd safety, and traffic assistance needed so local officers can focus on keeping everything running smoothly.

As the nation's only state-wide shared police reserve, stepping up for towns like Center is at the very core of our mission. A big thank you to Chief Aragon and Deputy Chief Guaderrama, and the entire Center PD team for their outstanding hospitality and leadership. We love serving with you! 💙

Today, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Centennial State! From the majestic peaks of the Rockies to the vast Eastern Plains, there is truly no place on earth like Colorado. 🏔️✨

For over a century, the Colorado Rangers have been deeply rooted in this state's rich history. Today, as the only state-wide shared police reserve in the USA, our POST-certified officers are immensely proud to stand side-by-side with local law enforcement to protect, serve, and safeguard the communities that call this incredible state home.

Whether you’re out hiking, celebrating at a local festival, or enjoying a backyard BBQ, we hope you have a safe and wonderful Colorado Day!

It’s been a busy summer season for the Colorado Rangers! From small-town festivals and high-altitude races to holiday celebrations and crowd safety, our Rangers have been out in full force across the state supporting our local law enforcement partners. 🚓🤝

As a force multiplier for agencies across Colorado, our POST-certified officers are always ready to step in where needed most—ensuring our local police departments and sheriff’s offices have the extra support required to keep big events safe and smooth.

Summer might be flying by, but our commitment to our communities never slows down.
