🚧 Traffic Alert – Highway 52 Closure 🚧
Highway 52 is currently closed between Weld County Road 31 and Weld County Road 37 and will remain closed until approximately 4:00 PM today.

Meet George — our special visitor for the day! 🐾

Chief Bateman brought in his four-legged helper and let's just say George passed the inspection with flying colors. He greeted every crew member, held down the welcome mat, and proved that sometimes the best morale boost has a wagging tail.

Thank you, George, for keeping our station a little brighter. You're welcome back any time! 🐶❤️🚒

🚒 More from a Historic Night 🚒
We’re still taking in what an incredible evening it was as we welcomed Chief Ward into our fire department family.
Moments like these remind us that the fire service is built on more than just duty—it’s built on tradition, leadership, and the people who stand beside us every day. These photos capture just a glimpse of a night we’ll remember for years to come.
We’re proud of where we’ve been and excited for where we’re headed.
Once again, welcome to the family, Chief Ward. 🔥👨‍🚒

Last evening marked a historic occasion for our fire district as we formally swore in our new Fire Chief, Greg Ward. Chief Ward was joined on stage by his father, wife, and son, adding a meaningful and personal dimension to the ceremony. He brings with him 31 years of distinguished experience with the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority.
We look forward with great anticipation to the future under Chief Ward’s leadership. His experience, dedication, and vision will undoubtedly guide our department to continued excellence in service to our community.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to former Interim Fire Chief Ron Bateman for his exemplary leadership and steadfast commitment during this period of transition. His contributions have been invaluable to the strength and continuity of our fire district.

🚨 Traffic Alert – Train vs. Vehicle Incident 🚨
Early this morning (around 5:33 AM), emergency crews responded to a vehicle vs. train accident at the intersection of County Road 10 and South Rollie Avenue.
One individual was transported to a local hospital.
County Roads 10, 8, and 6 are currently blocked due to the train.
Railroad crews are actively working to separate the train cars so the intersections can reopen.
⏳ Expect these road closures to continue for the next couple of hours.

Earlier today, our crews participated in a multi-agency active assailant training exercise. These opportunities are critical in ensuring we remain prepared to respond effectively to complex, high-risk incidents while strengthening coordination with our partner agencies.
The training was planned and coordinated by Hudson Fire Department, and we’re grateful for their leadership in bringing agencies together for this important exercise.
Participating agencies included:

Hudson Fire Department
Fort Lupton Fire Protection District
Hudson Police Department
Lochbuie Police Department
Keenesburg Police Department
AirLife
Flight For Life

Additional support and participation were provided by:

Weld County Dispatch
Platte Valley Medical Center
UCHealth personnel, with students serving as simulated patients

We appreciate the dedication and collaboration of all agencies involved. Training like this ensures we are ready to serve and protect our communities when it matters most.
