From Tuesday, Sept. 8 to Tuesday, Sept. 22, the southbound US 85 off-ramp to CO 52 will be closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will repair the CO 52 bridge over the South Platte River immediately west of the interchange. Due to the narrow work zone and the equipment needed to perform the work, a full ramp safety closure is necessary.

The signed detour route will direct southbound US 85 traffic to continue south to CO 7 to bypass the closure.

Other overnight US 85 ramp closures will be needed for asphalt paving. More information will follow regarding the schedule and travel impacts.

Drivers should expect possible delays Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on CO 52 from Colorado Boulevard to US 85. Paving operations require single-lane alternating traffic controlled by flaggers. Uniformed traffic control officers or flaggers may briefly stop traffic at driveways and side streets to allow construction equipment to pass.

Before paving, crews mill the roadway by removing the top few inches of pavement. Temporary pavement markings are installed after paving, with final lane striping completed later. Drivers should expect rough road conditions and uneven pavement in active work zones.
All construction activities are weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

🚒 Busy Day for Fort Lupton Fire Crews 🚒

Yesterday afternoon, our crews responded to a commercial structure fire and automatic fire alarm on North Denver Avenue. Firefighters quickly determined that an overheated electrical component had failed, producing smoke that activated the alarm system.

Crews were then dispatched to an injury accident at the intersection of Weld County Road 6 and Weld County Road 19. Several patients were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

While managing these incidents, crews also responded to several additional calls for service throughout the district.

A special thank you to Brighton Fire Rescue District and Mountain View Fire Rescue for their assistance and partnership in helping us serve our community.

🚒 Thank You, Fort Lupton! 🚒

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Push-In Ceremony this past Sunday to welcome Engine 2602 into service.

As part of the ceremony, we honored a long-standing fire service tradition by transferring water from our previous engine to the new engine using a traditional firefighting bucket. This symbolic act represents the passing of service, experience, and commitment from one apparatus to the next.

Engine 2602 is now in service and ready to protect our community. Our former engine will continue serving the district in a reserve capacity.

We would also like to thank our community for its continued support. Your investment in and commitment to the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District helps ensure we have the equipment, training, and resources needed to serve you effectively.

Thank you for celebrating this important milestone with us! 🚒❤️

CO 52 east of WCR 19 to close for four nights, Aug. 30-Sept. 2

From Sunday, Aug. 30 to Wednesday, Sept. 2, Colorado Highway 52 will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews make bridge repairs just east of Weld County Road 19. Due to the narrow work zone and the equipment needed to perform the work, a full highway safety closure is necessary.

Local access to properties between WCR 19 and WCR 21 will be maintained from the east side of the closure. A signed detour for through traffic on CO 52 will direct motorists to use I-25 on the west and US Highway 85 on the east to either CO 7 or CO 66 to bypass the closure.

All construction activities are weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
