Fort McKavett Volunteer Fire Department We are a 100% volunteer Fire Department serving Fort McKavett, Western Menard County, and surrounding area since 2001. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Our meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6 PM in Fort McKavett, Texas.

We only have a handful of spots left on our Gun Raffle to kick off our October fundraiser! We are raffling off a R***r 22 Single 6 with a 9 inch barrell. It’s $20 a square!

We will do the drawing when every square has been filled!

It’s hard to believe with the sunny morning we’ve had but we’re part of a flood watch the rest of the day.

05/26/2026 1 PM: quick update on storm timing. Some hit and miss storms are developing around San Angelo, but the main line out to the west near Ozona and Sterling City at 1 PM will push east into San Angelo, Sweetwater, and Eldorado by around 2 PM. The line will then continue east towards Abilene, Eden, and Sonora between 3 and 4 PM. So far these storms are remaining below severe levels, but they may strengthen as they move across West Central Texas.

Even if they don't become severe, heavy rainfall, dangerous lightning, and gusty winds will be likely.
