Days like yesterday are what make us proud Rotarians. Our annual Literacy Picnic was a great success, marked by the distribution of over 3,000 books (each child received two free books), the serving of more than 2,300 hot dogs, several author book readings, and even a chance to meet a cow. The event also showcased performances by local schools, community partners, and featured engaging theme booths representing all elementary schools within the Fort Mill School District. Amazing! In addition, every first-grade student and their family were invited to participate. The event provided an ideal platform for advocating reading and literacy on a leisurely (almost rain-free) afternoon at the Anne Springs Greenway. Thank you to everyone who assisted with this fantastic day, special recognition goes out to Gretchen Johnson for leading this initiative.
