Check out the fun in Mr. Sas' 8th grade science classes this week. Students made their own creations for The Egg Drop Stem Project which was designed to allow students to showcase their understanding of how Newton's Laws of Motion can be applied to help lessen the force of impact during a vertical collision. Students demonstrated this by using the engineering design process to design and build a prototype to protect an egg from an 8 foot drop.

Our 8th grade science students were tasked to work on the design and construction of a safety device to prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a height of 8 feet. All students met the constraints and came up with innovative solutions while exploring Newton's 3 Laws. Even the teacher dressed as an egg in a ziplock bag. Students enjoyed seeing their designs come to life and will report on what worked and what they would do differently if they were to do this again..

Our incredible 7th-grade ELA teachers at Indian Land Middle School spent time diving deep into professional development today. The energy in the room was electric as they collaborated, shared innovative strategies, and focused on new ways to inspire our students.

REMINDER: Indian Land Middle School Two-Hour Early Release Tomorrow, Friday, August 28th. Please be reminded that tomorrow, Friday, August 28th, is a scheduled two-hour early-release day.
Our dismissal schedule for tomorrow will be as follows:
• 1:20 p.m. – Afternoon announcements begin
• 1:30 p.m. – Student dismissal
